Hello!

Has any one applied to USF or is considering this school for Spring 2010 or Fall 2010? I am going to apply in October, so I am very anxious for October to arrive!

Are you taking their rhetoric, philosophy, etc courses in the meantime?

Yeah I took that this semester all I need is the literature and a nursing theory class and I'm ready for the program

Hey Leonard_huh,

How do you like USF? I got accepted for Fall 2011 and will be starting my clinicals in Spring 2011 as well. I'm still iffy about attending because of how expensive tuition is. I didn't get accepted anywhere else because my teas score wasn't high enough but the expense of USF is making me rethink my major. I wasn't eligible for financial aid so I have to take out loans including private and for private loans, interests starts right away. When I calculated all the loans and interests I would have to pay back, it's about $80k just for ONE year and I have 7 semesters (that's over $200k for a degree!). I want to be a nurse but is it even worth it to be in such major debt when I graduate? Do you know if other students attending USF are having the same dilemma?

What do you guys think? I've been doing a lot of research to figure what's best but I'm still very unsure.

Thanks!

Hey helen

Don't worry a lot of people are in your situation, but have no choice because it is hard to get into a program. I love USF really nice area, campus, and people. If you have gotten all of your general education classes and upper division out of the way you don't have to worry about being full time and could be part time which would be about 13k a semster. As of finicial aid everyone in our first semster barely got anything because the school did not have any left, but you should be able to obtain some next year for fall 2012/spring 2012 though because I did. You should also shop around for different types of Loans though because it should really come out to at least 50k a year if you go full time. All in all do not think about the money, but the experience and the education that will come with it.

Hi everyone. Im applying to USF nursing for Spring transfer 2012. Any advice? I been reading a lot on these posts and you all seem to say that it takes a while to even start clinicals. I've been at my local community college for 2 years now and going on my last semester. Should I be looking elsewhere? If so, what other good nursing programs are out there? I am willing to go out of state as well. Thanks!

I'm a transfer student and had to wait a year before I could start clinicals. If you want to start clinicals asap, then I could look elsewhere. If a spot happens to open up at the time of your admission then you're one of the the lucky ones. Otherwise, be prepare to wait one year before starting clinicals. For some people, it's better than being put on a wait list somewhere else.
