Updated:   Published

Hi everyone,

I didn't see a thread for this yet so I wanted to start a place for those who have applied the the University of South Florida FNP program starting fall 2021. Previous applicants/accepted students please feel free to comment on the process for you!

thanks!

Specializes in Orthopedics.

Wasn't sure if this was mentioned or not yet but does anyone know the living distance expectation? I know its hybrid you'll have to be in Florida but did the school mention you HAVE to stay in Tampa or is like nearby fine?

Specializes in PCU RN - 2 years - Oncology Nurse- 2 years.

I live an hour away in Brooksville. I think you will be fine, however, they can not Guarantee that you will not have to travel far for clinical assignments. My coworker that just graduated this past semester said she had to drive all the way to Sarasota at one point during her term.

Thank you! I work in Sarasota right now and I love my floor/hospital so I didn't want to leave it if I didn't have to

Hi everyone!  I received an invitation to interview for the FNP program!! For those asking, my application in nursing cas was complete on 2/15, verified 2/23, rcvd email 3/1 from USF that application was under review and invitation to interview was received yesterday (3/2).  Good luck to everyone interviewing in the coming weeks!

First off, congrats to everyone so far. Quick question; how is everyone paying for school? Also, has anyone gotten their official graduate college acceptance letter yet?

Also, in regards to your question, my interview was very informal and they just asked me the general questions like why do you want to be a nurse practitioner, why the FNP track, and then name a situation where you have been frustrated and how did you handle it. It’s pretty straight forward. I wouldn’t stress to much, they didn’t ask any school history questions or anything like that.

I have not heard anything from USF since I received my acceptance email. Even when I accepted the offer I never received any type of confirmation. Makes me a little nervous since it's been a few weeks now.

I received an interview offer! I’m interviewing this upcoming Monday. I’m nervous! IDK what type of questions they’ll be asking.

Did anyone else have an interview? .. I was like 5 min late to my interview because my computer stopped working. I had to use my phone, smh... I hope it didn’t affect my chances.

Don't worry at all. It will not affect the result. Happened to me, and I received an offer for full time program.

I had my interview the same day! Have you received any notification yet? My lady said 2-3 weeks but I was just curious if anyone who interviewed the same day heard anything?
