USF (South Florida) FNP Fall 2021

Updated:   Published

Hi everyone,

I didn't see a thread for this yet so I wanted to start a place for those who have applied the the University of South Florida FNP program starting fall 2021. Previous applicants/accepted students please feel free to comment on the process for you!

thanks!

Specializes in Pediatrics.

Congrats to all of you! I look forward to working with you!

Specializes in PCU, Tele, Med/Surg.

I thought the application deadline was February 15 (for priority)? I saw people getting acceptance letters in January, is this rolling admissions? If so I would’ve applied sooner! LOL. I’m nervous. My application is under review for the FNP program.

Specializes in CVICU/CVOR.

Congrats on anyone who received their acceptance letters! I was under the impression USF wasn't rolling admission, as I see some people have been granted admission as early as last year for this incoming Fall cohort. Can anyone give me a timeline of what I should expect after my NursingCAS gets verified? What is the next thing that happens? I haven't received any notifications yet, getting nervous.

Specializes in Pulmonology.

I think it’s a bit harder to say this year due to covid. My application has been verified since late last year (oct/nov) and under review within 2 weeks. Interview request the end of Jan and acceptance last week. Although they offered me part time FNP and I wanted Full time so I declined. That opens up a spot for someone else.

Specializes in Mom/Baby.

It took about 2 weeks after I submitted by application on NursingCAS to get an email from USF that my application was under review. 2 weeks after that I received my invitation for an interview.... and then about 12 days after my interview I got my acceptance email. Good luck to you!!

Did you accept an offer somewhere else instead?

Congratulations to everyone that has been accepted!

I applied for the MSN FNP program (part-time) and my application was complete on 2/15.  My application was verified today and I am wondering how to tell when the application is under review.  Is nursing CAS updated to reflect that the application is under review?  Or are you all looking in Oasis?  When I check my application status in oasis, it says that that my application has been sent off for review.   Thanks everyone!

Hi guys!!

Just received my acceptance email for the Acute Care NP Program. Full time. SO excited!! Anyone else here for the Acute care program?

My timeline was, applied 1/7, 2/11 my app was under review, 2/11 I also got asked for an interview, 2/15 was my interview and just got my acceptance today 2/23!

Hoping to meet someone in the Acute care NP Program. There was no thread so that’s why I’m commenting on this one.
congrats to everyone!

Yes I accepted an offer at UCF. I prefer full time. Although they do not have an MSN anymore only DNP. The part time MSN track at USF would have taken me 8 semesters while the full time DNP  at UCF will take 9 semesters so it works out better for me

CAS will just say verified while Oasis will say under review. Interview request (if required) and acceptance come in an email. Oasis did not update upon my acceptance they said it takes 1-2 weeks.

Hi runningnursemom. Don't worry about Oasis or NursingCas, USF will send you an e-mail if they need any additional documents, or to invite you for an interview. Good luck!!

I just received an invitation to interview for the FNP track!! Super excited but super nervous. I also had to schedule it a little later because of a schedule conflict so I hope that won't affect anything. If anyone who's interviewed has any broad tips/advice that would be very kind!

First off, congrats to everyone so far. Quick question; how is everyone paying for school? Also, has anyone gotten their official graduate college acceptance letter yet?

Also, in regards to your question, my interview was very informal and they just asked me the general questions like why do you want to be a nurse practitioner, why the FNP track, and then name a situation where you have been frustrated and how did you handle it. It’s pretty straight forward. I wouldn’t stress to much, they didn’t ask any school history questions or anything like that.
