USF San Francisco Master's CNL Spring 2010 - Waitlisted

Published

Hi,

I just got my letter today stating that I am on the waitlist. I am wondering if there is anyone else out there who applied as well, and wanted to start a thread for people to post their results. I'm anxious to get off of that waitlist (of course!). It was strange that they did not state how many people are on the waitlist or what number I am. I am going to give them a call on Monday to see if I can get any additional info.

Thanks!

Melissa

Hi Hana09, I believe the program is 8-3 pm but it could change since the last time I called them was in November. You can reach them (650) 330-6429. Make sure you speak with someone who knows about the FREE CNA program. They require that you go there to actually register. Hurry, as the class maybe full. I hope this helps, Hana09. God Bless you.

Hi bleemme, I called and they said the next program start date is in May. I can't wait that long because I want to apply to the summer CNL program. But what do you think of the school NCP, they have both CNA and LVN programs. I just read about them. Im not sure about the details but I filled out an inquiry form, so I will find out soon. Let me know if you know about this school. Thanks for your help!

Happy Holidays!!

Hi Hana09,

I have been considering NCP as well. They have a good reputation. My friend's cousin went there and she liked it.

I'm sorry to hear that Hana09. I have not had an experience with NCP. I did, however, call Bay Area College of Nursing and as far as I remember, they have a weekend program. They were a bit sketchy on the details of tuition until they were asked for all other fees.

Thanks, Bleeme for the information on Bay Area College of Nursing. I had not heard about that school. There is no way I could do the one in Menlo Park. I live in San Anselmo, but Daly City is doable for me. I will check it out.

Hana09, are you planning on doing a CNA program right away?

San Anselmo? Isn't that in Marin County? I'm sure they have a program in Marin County and/or San Francisco. Personally, I would not go with Bay Area College of Nursing. But here are the requirements should you decide to explore that route.

Admission Requirements

  1. Completely filled out Bay Area College of Nursing application form.
  2. Complete Entrance Assessment Test with a score of 150 or higher in English and a score of 150 or higher in Mathematics. Test scores must be within 2 years prior to the date of admission.
  3. Physical examination by a medical doctor or nurse practitioner.
  4. TB clearance
  5. Live Scan
  6. Current and valid C.P.R. certificate.
  7. Must be at least 18 years of age by the time the program begins.
  8. Have no conviction in any court of law of a crime other than minor traffic violations.

Thanks Bleemmee. Yes, San Anselmo is in Marin County. The closest programs are in Santa Rosa and San Francisco, unfortunately. My family all lives near Daly City, so it's not too bad. Have you heard bad things about the Bay Area College of Nursing? Unfortunately, the CNA programs at the community colleges get booked so quickly.

Hi mfrancisco, No I have not heard of anything bad about Bay Area College of Nursing. I just wished that they were more forthcoming on the fees though. I did not like having to play "detective" with them on the fees. They quoted me a price for the total fees but would later find out all sorts of other fees that were not included in my requested quote. After talking to them, I felt like I talking to a dealer at a used car lot if you know what I mean. I would send you the docs they sent me but I do not have the "PM" feature available because I'm still a newbie. The best bet is to contact the Daly City office and have them send you information. It comes in 2 word documents. Also, I encourage you to ask questions. God Bless.

Hi, yes I want to start a CNA program as soon as possible so I can have some experience when I reapply to USf. NCP sounds good and I also read about the cornerstone college who offers a 19 day CNA program for $900. But the only problem with that is its full time. Thanks so much for the help!

Hana09 - Trust me, the Bay Area College of Nursing is much more than that :twocents:

NCP is about $1300.

Hi, did you find out the price on their website? Thanks
