USF MSN-CNL non-nurse summer 2018

Published

Hey everyone, I thought to start a thread for the current University of San Francisco Summer 2018 application period for the ME-MSN for non-nurse program. I've read the threads from previous application periods and thought it would be nice to start one for this current application period. Feel free to start posting about anything you'd want to talk about or share.

Good luck everyone!

Hi everyone! I've been a silent follower for a while and I finally decided to make an All Nurses account and join in on the stress :( I've been checking my account and email like a crazy person all day yesterday and today for an update. I got into Samuel Merritt's ABSN in San Mateo and Georgetown's MSN-CNL (so shocking to me!) but I don't know if I want to spend so much money for another bachelor's and I'm not sure if I want to move to D.C. Where else did everyone apply? Has anyone gotten a phone call or email from USF?

Hey there! I'm going to Samuel Merritt Absn too so if you decide on that illl see you there! I did the math and it ended up being a lot cheaper bc I would only be unemployed for 12 months instead of 2 years (I can go back to my old job once i graduate while I look for nursing jobs). I originally applied to USF but ended up withdrawing, and now I'm following along bc I've got my fingers crossed for a friend. Good luck!

I was in Georgetown's CNL program for a year (long story) and I did not enjoy it. If you wanna PM me on the side I'm more than happy to give you a rundown. But congrats to both regardless!

Hi Natalie! Awesome! Did you get into the Oakland or San Mateo campus? I got into San Mateo for June start. So I have a little bit of time to decide.

I'm April start San Mateo! Super excited to start and hoping everything works out for everyone on this thread too!

Thank you pckillmonger! I would love to get your opinion on Georgetown! I can't send a PM because it's not allowed for new users (weird?). Could you send me one? I live in the Bay Area and went to SFSU for undergrad so moving to DC would definitely be a new experience and challenge.

I emailed them and they said that admissions decisions are sent 10 weeks after the application due date. If my math is right that makes it March 26th. I'm still hoping to hear from USF. I got denied at UCLA (1st choice since I live here), UC Irvine and USD. I did however get in to Rush University in Chicago and Johns Hopkins in Baltimore.

Omg congrats on Rush and John Hopkins! I got denied for USD too. March 26 is soooo long!

Ugh I wish they weren't so vague about everything...I, just like I assume everyone else, am so ready to hear the decisions. Do you think they are doing rejections in rounds as well?

Most likely! i think they do at least one round in the beginning and then another right before they give out acceptances ( at least based on past threads )

@pckillmonger thank you for the PM. I'm trying to reply but again it won't let me because I'm new on here. It requires 15 quality topic posts because I can use their PM system, whatever that means.... eyeroll

They told me they were looking to get final decisions out within the next two weeks. OTL

so the waiting game continues... lets keep calm :/
