USF MSN-CNL non-nurse summer 2018

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

Hey everyone, I thought to start a thread for the current University of San Francisco Summer 2018 application period for the ME-MSN for non-nurse program. I've read the threads from previous application periods and thought it would be nice to start one for this current application period. Feel free to start posting about anything you'd want to talk about or share.

Good luck everyone!

Hello! How did the application process go?

The application process was ok, it was a bit nerve racking since USF doesn't interview for this program so I wanted the make sure that all the pieces of m application were the best they could be before I submitted them. Did you also apply?

I'm surprised this thread does not have many posts on it. I applied!

Hi @samanthajoyce! I was/am surprised as well, I wonder if fewer people applied this round...

I applied as well.

Just applied. Much much easier app than CAS.

I knew that once one or two people came out of the woodwork, more would as well.

Where else did ya'll apply? I just got my booty handed to me with SFSU, and I thought I was competitive!

Hello everyone.

I also applied. I am glad there is a group now yay! that way we can all be on this together, so nervous.

also surprised to not see a lot of people here.

@MandaNursePanda did you apply to SFSU for the spring? If so, how competitive was it?

I am thinking of applying to SFSU for Spring 2019 if USF doesn't pan out for summer 2018. I applied to USF for summer 2018 just to see if I have a chance (and because it is a great program), I am taking Micro this semester so this was one of the only programs that I want to apply to that allows you to have a course in progress.

@lmp23 I am so nervous too, now the 8-10 week wait begins...

Hi Everyone! I applied as well to USF and like MandaNursePanda, I also applied to SFSU (I got waitlisted). I also applied to Marquette University's Entry Level Nursing Program and got in there but would like to wait and see about USF before I fully commit. USF is probably my first choice. Best of luck to everyone!

I applied to SFSU also and was immediately rejected. I was mega shocked that I didn't at least get an interview because a lot of people put up their stats and mine were on par, if not better, than others. I REALLY wish they would give feedback on applications like that. I don't know if I didn't meet the requirements or if something wasn't submitted, or if there was another very minor issue.

They said they offer feedback but they literally wrote me an email that said: "Our program is impacted - we have a very competitive pool of applicants for our ELM - A program and only 24 spots. Thank you for your interest in our program. Best Regards, SF State School of Nursing." Which is probably the most useless email I have ever gotten. I wouldn't be so upset if I didn't have to do two apps, manually enter 234 units on two apps, and then pay TWO application fees to be considered. This whole process is very frustrating and their department didn't even notify me of their decision until weeks after others heard about theirs.

I sincerely hope that USF is more professional. SFSU is one of the cheapest programs and shortest so I am assuming a lot of people apply. I am on the fence about applying for Fall 2018 because I don't even know what to fix. What do you think? Where else are you thinking of applying?

Anyway, are you ging
