USF MSN-CNL non-nurse summer 2018

Published

Hey everyone, I thought to start a thread for the current University of San Francisco Summer 2018 application period for the ME-MSN for non-nurse program. I've read the threads from previous application periods and thought it would be nice to start one for this current application period. Feel free to start posting about anything you'd want to talk about or share.

Good luck everyone!

Hi! Trying to get more people's opinions on this.. but is anyone concerned about how USF removed there clinical preceptorship at the end of the program? Does anyone know how this will affect the number of clinical hours one gets in the program/employment opportunities?

Anyone know if they offer money to first years? I got accepted to UC Davis and they do, so that would be a major factor in USF. Still haven't heard if I got in anyways, but just wondering!

Thanks!

@popkern PLEASE oh Please tell us your stats! I feel like getting in a MSN program at a UC is phenomenal so CONGRATS!!!

thank you! I did get rejected from UCSF and UCLA, so i'm not sure what that says but anyways I'm happy to share some of my background!

I graduated from GW in 2010 with a 3.5GPA. I've been balancing working in advertising and building a travel blog for the past 8 years. Nursing has come up for me repeatedly over the years so I finally decided to take the plunge - requiring me to go back to school to do pre-reqs. Got a 4.0 in all of those.

On the side, I've been volunteering at UCSF in fall prevention and geriatrics unit.

Not sure how helpful that is and don't want anyone to compare because we all have a unique story... but I do agree it is fun to learn the path everyone took to get here.

Hey ma27123! Im not too sure on how it will affect the number of clinical hours but I see that they have an Internship scheduled in the sixth semester so maybe that replaces the preceptorship? I would definitely call the school to get a better explanation.

According to their IG reply I got last night, everyone will hear via snail mail first - so I'm very surprised someone already heard a rejection...

Maybe that's just for undergrad? Who knows.. but after we heard about the first rejection on here I called the next day to see if they'll be doing acceptances soon and all they said was that they're doing it in rounds... -_-

@kaydeeee Did they give any reason why they are doing the acceptances in rounds?

Hey y'all! Been following for some time; didn't get in last Spring so here's to hoping for this time around. I remember asking about sending out acceptances on IG - think they referred to undergrad programs.

@kaydeeee Did they give any reason why they are doing the acceptances in rounds?

No reason given. They were super vague..like always.

Ugh I wish they weren't so vague about everything...I, just like I assume everyone else, am so ready to hear the decisions. Do you think they are doing rejections in rounds as well?

No reason given. They were super vague..like always.

Did they say how soon they'd be letting us know? :\

Hey Everyone!!! I messaged the school on FB. Here is what they said "We are in the process of finalizing decisions. Applicants will be notified via email to check their application status online."

So no calls OTL
