USF MSN-CNL non-nurse summer 2017

Hello everyone! I am currently waitlisted in the spring 2017 cohort starting in Jan for the USF MSN-CNL non-nurse cohort 23, but I wanted to start a thread for those of you applying to the summer 2017 semester because if I don't get off the waitlist I will be reapplying for summer, and if I do get off the waitlist I can help you all with info on how the process works and what to expect. Either way, since I am going through it right now, I hope to be able to help new applicants. This time can be very stressful. Who all out there is applying?

Guys!!!!!!! I'm kinda torn! Huge decision. I already am committed to SMU and excited to go there so I'm leaning towards that, and if so I hope my spot goes to one of you here who is waiting! It just feels so good to have multiple options. I never imagined that would happen!!! I was so shocked when I got the call lol

I'm scrambling trying to get all the immunizations/physical/cpr stuff ready lol. I briefly looked at the student handbook and it talked about clinical attire and said we need "white leather shoes" to wear with our white scrubs. Does anyone have any good recs?

Cleo thank you!!!! Such a hard decision!!! For the shoes I need white at SMU as well and I'm probabaly going with danskos but also heard timberlands are good! Also sketchers!

Mannnnn, anyobe gave advice on how to make a final decision? Ekkkkkkk!

Did you get into the BSN or MSN at SMU? USF is a little cheaper, isn't it? But since you already went to USF for undergrad it could be nice to experience a new place. I have no clue.. I hope you're happy with the decision you end up making! But I think either way you go it's going to be a good experience and you'll get to your end goal. Good luck!

same here. almost done with everything. got a little anxious in the BLS class...maybe a taste for what's to come - that realization that i have absolutely no idea what the hell i'm doing... :p

When do you have to let USF know if you're accepting or declining your spot? Do you have some time to weigh out your options?

@glash I am in the MSN program at SMU. So both are MSN! :) Yea I'm kinda craving a new experience and new environment! And SMU is significantly closer to me than USF so commute would be better. And SMU has clinicals for me in the east bay (John Muir Walnut Creek, John Muir concord, Kasier Walnut Creek) which may be better for me for possible jobs cause I want to work as close to home as I can! But USF is one semester shorter and less expensive. Hmmmmmmmm!!!

@aposs they told me my acceptance letter was mailed today so I haven't received it yet but I am assuming I have like 10-14 days! Maybe someone else on here who got off the waitlist before me can confirm?

@afton , do you think well have to get all our health screenings done by may 1st like everyone else? I forgot to ask Erin when she called cause I was at work. I feel like we'd have an extension because we were accepted later. What do you think?

Uh Oh..I'm doing my BLS class in two weeks haha. We'll see how that goes!
