Nursing Students School Programs

Hello everyone! I am currently waitlisted in the spring 2017 cohort starting in Jan for the USF MSN-CNL non-nurse cohort 23, but I wanted to start a thread for those of you applying to the summer 2017 semester because if I don't get off the waitlist I will be reapplying for summer, and if I do get off the waitlist I can help you all with info on how the process works and what to expect. Either way, since I am going through it right now, I hope to be able to help new applicants. This time can be very stressful. Who all out there is applying?

awesome...thank you for the info. sounds like we'll all be in the same boat. i was worried i threw a wrench into things by being so proactive. :p

Hello all,

I've been following this forum for a while but finally decided to chime in. I received my status change and my official acceptance letter last week and I can't wait to meet everyone - Congratulations guys! I will be moving from New York and I was wondering if there were others in my situation - moving from a different coast. Also, for California natives/residents, any tips on cheaper towns to look for apartments and how long I should give myself to find one? Any tips would be appreciated as I am trying not to freak out. I spoke with onestop today and they stated that the financial aid packet won't become available until the middle of April and that grad PLUS loans will not get disbursed until the end of May. Seems like those of us planning on refund checks for housing and living expenses will have to find alternatives for May. Finally, any update on the FB page for our cohort?

i wish i had some two cents for you...but i'm planning to crash in hotels only when i absolutely have to be in the bay area (i'm commuting - 2.5-3hrs - from fresno area). i can't imagine anyone wants to do that...hell, i don't want to do that!!! :p

i do know aftonheistand attended USF in undergrad. maybe she has some advice.

I am so shocked to say I just got in off the waitlist!!! Just got a call from erin! Wow!!!

so...what now?!? so excited for you!!! congratulations. big decision for you.

OMG! Congrats!! Are you still going to attend Samuel Merritt?

Congratulations!!

Hey guys,

Just got a call too. Off the waitlist and officially accepted! Hope more of you hear good news today too! Anyone know how i go about doing the drug test? I work for a clinic so i was hoping to get all my tests done here. I know this was discussed previously but if someone culd point me in the right direction again that would be great! Look forward to meeting all of you!

just google "usf next steps" and find our program :)

from the program:

It is important to note that for students entering in summer 2017, the deadline for all of your health requirements, including drug test and background check, is May 1.

We have contracted with a vendor (Castle Branch) for the processing and collection of all health requirement documentation, background checks, and drug testing.

Here are instructions on how to order your Castle Branch accounts:

MSN (non-nurse) students must order the medical document manager, background check, and drug test via Castle Branch by going to https://portal.castlebranch.co m/uf91 , clicking on "Place Order" and choosing the following package codes from the dropdown menu for the Masters Entry listings: UA56summer (medical document manager), UA56D (drug test) and UA56BD (background check); the one-time total cost for all three items is $117.75.

You must complete all of the requirements listed in the health requirements guide. All documents need to be scanned and uploaded to your Castle Branch medical document account. We will not accept paper documents; please do not mail your health documents to the university.

I have attached a student guide for SONHP health requirements to assist you in this process. You can also find detailed information about your health requirements at Health Requirements | myUSF. Please also feel free to contact me with questions.

Oh, I was wondering if anyone received an email about taking that "think about it" course? Or is that something we need to do after orientation/just later on?

i'm guessing we won't hear about it until the fall. insurance waivers also aren't available until the fall, but we won't be charged for student insurance for the summer.
