Hello everyone! I am currently waitlisted in the spring 2017 cohort starting in Jan for the USF MSN-CNL non-nurse cohort 23, but I wanted to start a thread for those of you applying to the summer 2017 semester because if I don't get off the waitlist I will be reapplying for summer, and if I do get off the waitlist I can help you all with info on how the process works and what to expect. Either way, since I am going through it right now, I hope to be able to help new applicants. This time can be very stressful. Who all out there is applying?
Ya I think they are still working with their clinical sites because it does change every semester. It's the same for SMU, they make us pick a preference and then place us into clinicals like a week before classes start. Still super torn on my decision, as I wasn't expecting to have a choice.
Seems like lecture for USF will be a good chunk of the day Wednesday and Thursday, then clinical m, t, or f. That leaves 2 days of the week open for hw/studying which seems nice! The schedule for SMU so far is Monday through Friday, all day pretty much for the first semester
@gabe I meant OR, and there is a good chance for Friday clinical for sure! I think you should talk to faculty down the line and request to be placed in Friday's. You will be traveling a long way and I have a feeling they will accomadate you. I'm not positive about childcare costs but I think you may be able to take that out in a private student loan. You can request a certain amount for that but I am not sure exactly how. Maybe call someone from the gradplus loan system? I am sure they can assist you!
@aposs to answer your question about how long I have until I have to submit the deposit, my letter says before April 24th!
For Bart get a clipper card and get it automatically loaded from a card. That way you just touch and go every time and it makes things a lot quicker. No discount. They give a huge discount for muni, you can buy a muni pass for a certain amount per semester (160$) I'm guessing the price cause for undergrad it is included in tuition but I think grad students have to pay out of pocket. But it's a little sticker that goes on your student ID and you just show that to the muni driver or honestly you don't really have to show them if you enter from the side of the bus just have it with you at all times in case the muni police ever come check people which they do periodically to make sure people are paying!
