USF MSN-CNL non-nurse summer 2017

Published

Hello everyone! I am currently waitlisted in the spring 2017 cohort starting in Jan for the USF MSN-CNL non-nurse cohort 23, but I wanted to start a thread for those of you applying to the summer 2017 semester because if I don't get off the waitlist I will be reapplying for summer, and if I do get off the waitlist I can help you all with info on how the process works and what to expect. Either way, since I am going through it right now, I hope to be able to help new applicants. This time can be very stressful. Who all out there is applying?

Thank you. I still plan to wait to hear back from USF but now I am so incredibly torn.

I agree. I think trying it out maybe for the first semester is a good start. I think it also really depends on how easily you get burnt out from week to week and if you have coping mechanisms or relaxation methods to deal with the stress.

Hi everyone, patiently waiting in anticipation as well!

If we do get accepted, does anyone know how long USF gives us to make a decision?

Thanks!

That's not a whole lot of time  But I suppose most know for sure that USF is their choice.

I just received my acceptance email to Johns Hopkins MEPN.

congratulations!!!)))

Thanks @gabriel

thanks for the info, unfortunately the other schools I'm waiting on will not get back to me until mid april :o

I know a lot of people that end up just making the deposits to hold their spot in a program or two while waiting on others. Sucks to possibly be wasting money but def worth it to hold your spot in a program!

Side note: before you guys start the program you should buy "strategies for test success" by Saunders. I got it on amazon for like 35$. I'm reading it now and it's a really great resource for getting prepared to answer nclex style questions all through nursing school as well as when you're studying for boards. Honestly I like to be prepared and really understand what I'm getting myself into and since nursing school testing is so different, it's helping ease my nerves. I read that it was a good book to get before starting a nursing program. Also get the Saunders Nclex RN comprehensive review (best prep book)! Just a suggestion :)

@afton Have you read or looked into "prioritization, delegation and assignment"? It's offered as a package with "strategies for test success" and NCLEX RN examination.

I haven't heard of that one! Is it worth it to pick up a copy? I will have plenty of down time this summer so I'm planning to get a head start on reading while I'm laying by the pool:yeah:
