USF MSN-CNL non-nurse summer 2017

Published

Hello everyone! I am currently waitlisted in the spring 2017 cohort starting in Jan for the USF MSN-CNL non-nurse cohort 23, but I wanted to start a thread for those of you applying to the summer 2017 semester because if I don't get off the waitlist I will be reapplying for summer, and if I do get off the waitlist I can help you all with info on how the process works and what to expect. Either way, since I am going through it right now, I hope to be able to help new applicants. This time can be very stressful. Who all out there is applying?

This is one of the many reasons I want to get into nursing - the opportunity to expand my career in so many directions. I definitely plan on working toward earning my DNP at some point very shortly after earning a MSN (maybe 5 years later). I can only imagine what will be available to us, career-wise, in 10 to 15 years. And it's very exciting!

yeah...gene-therapy, chromosome therapy, robotics, 3d organ printing, nanotech, a.i., the list goes on. medicine and health care are at the forefront of technological advancement and real moral/ethical issues that directly impact life and death. nursing is the frontline of implementation. it's exciting. the future is exciting.

Day 2 of this long week! Hope you guys are keeping busy!

Just got back from my trip and during the flight back, I kept wondering if we'll receive the notice this week. How's everyone holding up?

I'm practically buzzing with anxiety and nerves. Friday cannot come soon enough. Hopefully they don't decide to wait another week.

@Easy How was your trip?

My anxiety about hearing back is building up every day...luckily school and work have been keeping me somewhat distracted. Some of my classmates are talking about what schools they got into or are waiting to hear back from.. ahh! I hope we hear from them soon!

i'm expecting the worst waiting will be when status changes start occurring...that time between the status change and a call...or an application update of rejection. of course, no status change when ppl are getting calls will make for a horrible wait, too...

So here is a recap so you guys can know what to expect. The night before the bulk of the rejection emails/acceptances calls people's status was changing online. Those who had a status change but no decision letter online got an acceptance call. Those who got a status change the night before and who got denied received the email to check their status promptly at 8am the day of the calls. I do recall a few rejections that Wednesday/Thursday during that week too (with all the calls going out on a Friday). At that point, the only people who hadn't heard anything or had a status change on their account were given waitlist notification in the mail which was dated for the Friday of the acceptance calls. At that point, everyone on our forum had received notification of their status. I hope this helps you guys know what to expect. Check your spam mail, apparently a lot of the emails went in there.

In conclusion, if your status changes online, you either got accepted or rejected. If your status didn't change you are most likely on the waitlist!

Or they've decided to give us all a complex and wait another week......

Exactly haha but we can rest assured that it has happened if people on here indicate they received calls! Thankfully we won't be completely in the dark thanks to this forum!

My trip was excellent; thanks for asking @aposse. Majority of the time, i didn't think about USF. However, that unsettling feeling I left behind came rushing back to mind when I landed back home :scrying:. Just glad we're nearing the finish line. I remember looking back from previous posts that they call on Thursday/Friday of the 8th week.
