Hey guys! I wanted to start a threat for those of you applying to USF's MSN-CNL program for this spring! Deadline is Sep 1st, still some time to go! Who is out there that is applying?? :)
@mursepanda WOW CONGRATS!!!! So happy for ya! I was wondering if you heard news from them yet since I know they let people know pretty quickly after the interview! Is USF your top choice? Would you accept at SMU before hearing from USF? No news here from USF, technically its the 6th week I guess? Could be another 2-4 weeks which seems insane. I have wishful thinking that we will find out sooner.
@aftonheistand thanks!! They sent me an acceptance letter the day after the interview so it was nice to not be in the dark. I have already accepted SMU and made my deposit on tuition, but am waiting to hear back from USF still. Didn't want to lose my spot and hold out for a program I may not get into. (USF)
Figure in the long run that deposit is minute in comparison to the total tuition for the programs.
If i could I think i would take USF but not going to complain cause i am just super happy i made it into a program.
This whole waiting thing is nerve racking for sure, the admission office said most decision won't be until mid/end of november and really couldn't say anything else. Cutting it pretty close if you ask me since Jan is right around the corner.
Spoke with them I believe last wednesday? or thursday, it was basically after i got my acceptance from SMU. I wanted to know because of the deadline I have for SMU.
Sept 1 was the deadline, so 10 weeks is mid november unfortunately.
I guess not getting a denial is good as well, but man not having any info is pretty bad too! lol
@mursepanda that is true, I guess I had my heart set on knowing by week 8 lol. Going into late Nov would be past the 10 week mark, so thats what I was thinking. YIKESSSSS! It makes sense that they would take their time and not let people know till week 10 because past threads have indicated that they usually go past the deadline. OR maybe they need to tell us that it will be longer so we aren't expecting it earlier. I am probably overthinking it. Well, its good for you that you've been accepted into a program and can worry a little less, since no matter what you are in!
So I just caved and ended up calling the graduate nursing department and the lady on the phone told me they are currently reviewing applications still and we should be notified at the end of OCT/early NOV. She said to continue checking the mail and application portal. She didn't say anything about phone calls, but we know they have done them in the past. AHHHHHH!

@aftonheistand thank you! Since the first time I applied (for summer 2016), I think I significantly improved my personal statement and changed one of my recommenders, so hopefully it works out in my favor! í ½í¸Š I can't imagine wanting to get into another program; this one really hits everything I'm looking for perfectly. And I think you are pretty spot on with the 8-10 weeks of rolling acceptances. Going to be a long month í ½í¸‘
