USF MSN-CNL non-nurse spring 2017

Published

Hey guys! I wanted to start a threat for those of you applying to USF's MSN-CNL program for this spring! Deadline is Sep 1st, still some time to go! Who is out there that is applying?? :)

Ive been thinking that the reason they moved the due date of the application up to September was so they would have more time to review and could actually give notifications to applicants on time. Past decisions were later probably due to thanksgiving and christmas. Hope thats the case for us!

@md21887 that could be a definite possibility! Can you imagine the last cohorts not finding out until late December and having to get everything in order for a Jan start! Crazy! We will def know before the holidays which will be super nice. I am in the same boat. I have been picking up shifts at work, working out a ton, trying to stay super busy, but no matter what I do I think about it all the time. The only time I am not thinking about it is when I am sleeping or watching something on TV, so Ive been binge watching netflix lol

Been trying to study for gre and work on other apps but I find myself checking email and portal more often sigh

I hope you all are having a wonderful and stress free weekend filled with fun and rest. Next week may be a big week! Stay busy and thankful! xoxo

Spoke with Erin (director of graduate admissions for the school of nursing), who advised me that generally notifications are sent out around the 10 week mark, which she mentioned would be the second week of November. I don't know if this means that for this particular term its going to be closer to the 10 week mark based on whats currently happening with reviews, or if she was just talking generally. Wanted to pass that along to you guys so you don't get too disappointed if we still don't know after this week!

thanks for the update! darn was excited to maybe hear back this week.. another 2 weeks of torture i guess

I know right! I guess we could hear sooner, but likely not? 2 more weeks of suffering!

Really? Yea I think she might have meant for this term, I would hope she would have said this week if that was the case.. Man that's slightly disappointing. I was really hoping to hear something this week. It's alright I suppose ... meh

Thanks for sharing

She was definitely talking about this term. Let me go ahead and copy/paste her response here.

"Greetings Afton,

Decisions are typically out around 10 weeks after the deadline, which puts us around the second week of November. All applicants will receive an electronic notification of their decision, and those that are admitted with also receive a paper admission letter in the mail.

Please let me know if you have any further questions!"

If you look at a calendar and count 10 weeks from sep 1st it lands on Nov 10th. Idk if she is speaking "generally" or if 10 weeks is currently where they are thinking they will be done for this application cycle. *SIDE NOTE* I did talk to Ingrid as well (assistant director of admissions) who told me 8-10 weeks. I assume since Erin is the head director, she would maybe know about this particular cycle and how the timeline is going.

READY FOR THIS TO BE OVER! lol

Darn no more phone call? Was hoping maybe she meant the mailed letters are received around 10 weeks but the phone calls come earlier as that usually was what happened for past classes

Thanks for all the information Afton. This Might just be the longest waiting term ever. She also didn't mention anything about making calls.
