USF 2014 applicants?

I plan on applying for the ABSN program at USF for Fall. I cannot fill out the SOAR application until I finish Microbiology at the end of this month. Can anyone tell me what's required in the SOAR application besides the application, prerequisite courses, and writing sample? Does USF require a resume or letters of recommendation? Thanks!

The application is very basic and just asked for your email, phone number, if you have ever been in any branch of the military, etc...very basic info. The writing sample is the only additional part that is required. You don't have to input any of your pre req info. They do not accept resumes or recommendation letters, just the essay.

Regarding Excess surcharge hours: The registrar's office said it can be checked in "Oasis" to find out if you're subject to Excess surcharge hours.

I went to Student->Registration-> Excess Hours Student Counter and selected each term that was available.

Also note: If you are attending USF Summer 2014, Student Parking Decals are available at a prorated amount (

Does anyone know what the nursing orientation will be like? Do we need to bring anything (id's, cash, lunch) etc? Also has anybody completed the HIPPA training yet? if so how long does it take? Also they're asking for "professional attire", so does it mean no denim? I just realized it's only a couple of days away...

Hi everyone, congratulations to those of you that were accepted to USF! I'm currently in the accelerated nursing program and I graduate this summer (woohooo!!) I have ALL the books that you will need for the program and I won't be needing them after this semester. I spent $1800 in books and software/uniforms, etc in the first semester alone and I'm willing to sell my books at a good price :) Let me know if you're interested and I can get them to you before the summer semester starts.

At orientation they weren't as specific as I was hoping regarding books. I know many of the books they said will be available online, but they also said some of the books are still in the process of being made for USF. How do we get access to the online books? Has anyone bought them yet?

They said they would send am email to our usf health emails once they are available to purchase. I haven't gotten an email so I guess it still isn't ready yet. I hope this helps :)
