USC Keck RN Residency Summer 2018

Nurses Residency

Published

Hi everyone! Just thought I'd start a thread for those who are applying to the USC Versant New Graduate RN Residency Program for the summer of 2018. This is a way to stay updated throughout the process and ask each other questions. Thanks and good luck to us all!

CVTICU has 4 spots available. I'm surprised they're only taking in 15 as a total!

I got the online assessment questionnaire after my interview as well. I guess it was meant to be that way. Good luck!

Maybe it means we both got it.. LOL. Thanks for shedding some light on CVTICU. 4 positions is good odds! Let me know if you get an offer!

Hi! for those that did interview, how did the process go? Short or long? More personality questions or more technical? Anything helps!

Interview was about 25 minutes for me. It didn't feel long or short. It was mostly behavioral/personality questions so have example stories for your answers. There were 8 interviewers for mine but don't let that intimidate you. Just know they already like you because they called you in for an interview. They're looking to see if you're a good fit for the unit and how passionate you are about the unit. So walk in with confidence and be yourself! Good luck

anyone know the new grad salary?

I think it starts around 40, but I'm not sure.

Has anyone heard back about offers?

Did anyone ever hear from the neuro ICU?

Heard neuro ICU wasnt accepting this time around.

could be wrong though

I got an early offer last week! I had another offer from a different hospital that was expiring so I told them and it pushed their decision to hire me early. Good luck to those waiting to hear back (patriciabenner), I hope that we can be coworkers!

I don't know the pay rate yet, I'm still waiting for HR to call me about the details. Maybe HR is waiting for all offers to be extended before releasing details.

Aw that's unfortunate... thanks for the update though!

congrats on your offer!! hopefully i hear some good news, too haha. FYI, per the manager, HR should be scheduling on-site EKG/Medication tests and reference checks first before officially extending offers. that could be the hold up.

That's right, it's still a contingent offer. I was also told there would be a review course for the EKG exam and so HR is planning on keeping that test date as far back as possible. Best of luck and let me know if you get in!
