  1. Separate documents. I would keep the cover letter short and succinct and avoid repeating the same thing in the personal statement, except for your unit of choice. I wrote a small paragraph about why I chose my unit of choice in the personal statement.
  2. Write something that stands out and grabs attention on your personal statement. The coordinator reads through over 600 of these so make it interesting! Also, follow the instructions on the website exactly as it is stated.
  3. Just practice with the practice test they encouraged us to purchase and use. And yes for the second question.
  4. If you pass the practice test, you will pass the med admin test. The EKG is easy if you know your rhythms. The rhythms were easy to distinguish, as it almost looks textbook. Know your ACLS and how to measure rhythms and you'll be fine. I stressed way more than I needed to for these exams
  5. I wasn't able to go to the EKG review course either as I was out of town. Did you get the EKG review study guide and the review course PPT from HR? It says it will just be interpreting rhythms and ACLS interventions. I'm more worried about the med admin test lol
  6. I haven't taken it yet but I will be testing this week. Med admin is completely open book but timed and EKG is not open book but not timed. If you fail, you get a retry. Have you tried the practice exam they suggested from NLN?
  7. That's right, it's still a contingent offer. I was also told there would be a review course for the EKG exam and so HR is planning on keeping that test date as far back as possible. Best of luck and let me know if you get in!
  8. I got an early offer last week! I had another offer from a different hospital that was expiring so I told them and it pushed their decision to hire me early. Good luck to those waiting to hear back (patriciabenner), I hope that we can be coworkers! I don't know the pay rate yet, I'm still waiting for HR to call me about the details. Maybe HR is waiting for all offers to be extended before releasing details.
  9. Interview was about 25 minutes for me. It didn't feel long or short. It was mostly behavioral/personality questions so have example stories for your answers. There were 8 interviewers for mine but don't let that intimidate you. Just know they already like you because they called you in for an interview. They're looking to see if you're a good fit for the unit and how passionate you are about the unit. So walk in with confidence and be yourself! Good luck
  10. CVTICU has 4 spots available. I'm surprised they're only taking in 15 as a total! I got the online assessment questionnaire after my interview as well. I guess it was meant to be that way. Good luck!
  11. Just got called today to interview next week for the CTICU.
  12. A handful of documents, blood titers, and vaccines are due on the 15th. Including background checks and drug tests so if people have failed these or documents are not submitted on time, they may be dropped from the program.
  13. Keep in mind CSULB is a 2.5 year program vs 2 years at CSUF. And also cost of tuition, CSUF charges graduate fees. I'm kind of glad I got into CSUF instead of LB now because I'd rather be done a semester sooner.
  14. It seems that PM is still restricted for my account..
  15. Oh I didn't get invited to the communication exercise, I'm not on the CSULB waitlist. I just didn't make it through the first cut. If you were invited for the exercise, then that's a different story that I wouldn't know about.
