I believe there are a certain amount of slots for each category of applicant.
I appreciate the feedback! I believe my GPA is competitive and I'm currently in the process of studying for the GRE, as well as trying to figure out which Biochemistry class I want to take (University of New England's or UC San Diego Extension's).

The university sent out an email with multiple organic and biochem classes. I ended up going through Portage learning. It is around $500 and is self-paced, but sophomore-level so hopefully it doesn't count against me. I started at the beginning of the year and am on my last module currently, so it's pretty quick.

Thanks a lot for that list. Definitely helpful and much appreciated. Congrats on almost being done with your class!
Hi all! I have been an ICU nurse for a year and I just decided to start applying to USAGPAN this year? I know application closes in august but it sounds like its a very long process. Am I too late to get started? also, from USAGPAN website, looks like there is a shadow/interview at clinical site, does anyone know what it is like? thank you!

My recruiter is under the impression they are still not doing in-person shadow interviews and last years candidates were interviewed via zoom by the phase II clinical coordinator.
As far as time left goes, I think it’s doable depending on how hard you wanna work and what you have done already.

My recruiter sent me an information packet about program requirement, but I am still seeing mixed messages regarding interview and shadow part of the application. Is shadowing done at my current civilian work place and if so how do they verify the hours? And is the interview being done with army CRNA at phase 2 site?

“Interview: Qualified applicants must attend a 2-3 day shadow/interview before August 1st. Coordinated through your Army Medical Recruiter or VA liaison.”
“** Letters of Recommendation, three required – processed through the application portal
1). Supervisor
2). Peer / professional colleague
3). Post Shadow/Interview Letter from CRNA Faculty (sent internally by the writer)”
The interviewer writes a letter which satisfies the third letter of recommendation requirement. It is usually an in person combined shadow/interview, but Covid restrictions prevented that in last years application cycle. It’s unclear what they will do for interviews this year, but my recruiter suspects they will be similar to last years. In my application portal there is no place to submit private shadow experience other than mentioning it in your personal statement.
