  1. I know this is from quite a few years ago, but was wondering what you ended up doing? I'm also military and need to take an advanced path class. Did you do a class at Liberty and did they allow you to do it as a non-degree seeking student, or did you take another course of action? Thank you!
  2. Yea, I'm not looking forward to it LOL. Studying hard though!
  3. Thanks a lot for that list. Definitely helpful and much appreciated. Congrats on almost being done with your class!
  4. I appreciate the feedback! I believe my GPA is competitive and I'm currently in the process of studying for the GRE, as well as trying to figure out which Biochemistry class I want to take (University of New England's or UC San Diego Extension's).
  5. Hello everyone! Would anyone happen to know the percentage of applicants that were accepted over the previous few years? I hear from some people that there are hardly enough applicants to fill all of the slots, but I hear from others that it is extremely competitive to get accepted. Also, do active duty applicants have an advantage? Or does that not matter. I'm a 66S. Thanks!
  6. Tokmom, A few weeks ago, the Higher Learning Commission did, in fact, approve GCU to transition back to a non-profit.
  7. Nursedan1, How were the practicums? I saw that at least two of the classes required a lot of practical hours. Were these classes reasonable? Thank you.
  8. I am very interested in the UTA RN to BSN program. I see that many of their courses require an "application-based" experience in the community. Would anyone be willing to to speak about these classes and what they entail? Thank you so much in advance.
  9. Thank you for letting me know! He is right, it shouldn't have any effect whether it is non-profit it or not. It's just a personal thing for me. The majority of people seem to like it. Who knows, maybe we'll be classmates!
  10. You're right about the price. It isn't bad at all. I'll also receive a hefty discount for military affiliation, which makes their program even more enticing. If they convert to a non-profit soon, I may even begin classes before Summer starts. I know several former classmates, as well as colleagues, who've completed GCU's RN to BSN program and they've all had mostly good things to say. If you do decide on this program, when do you plan to start?
  11. Can anyone speak about the required "practical application" hours that this program has? I see that at least a few of the classes have 45-90 hours. What do these hours entail? Thank you in advance.
  12. There was some talk of this earlier in this thread. I just wanted to get some input from others who may have some new information on this. I will let you know if I find out anything else. Hopefully, someone will comment here. I do plan on starting this program as long as the Higher Learning Commission accepts GCU's proposal to convert back to a non-profit (there may be a decision on this sometime near the end of February). If this happens, I'd like to start in the summer. The driving force behind my decision is that the hospitals where I live prefer to higher BSN-prepared nurses. They will hire ADN nurses, but you have to sign a contract stating you'll have a BSN within three years. Additionally, I'd like to eventually become an NP.
  13. Hi, everyone. I read some comments on this forum regarding certain states no longer recognizing the BSN from GCU's RN to BSN program, specifically the state of Washington. However, I contacted the Washington Board of Nursing and asked about the RN to BSN program and they told me that they do accept/recognize the RN to BSN from GCU in their state and if I live in another state, as long as the program is accepted in my home state and I have a license, they will recognize it. I contacted GCU directly and they were also unaware of any states not recognizing their RN to BSN program. Does anybody have any updated/further information on this? It sounded like both the Washington Board of Nursing and GCU had not heard of this issue. Thank you in advance.
  14. Generic UserName, You mentioned going to in-class classes. Do they have a 100% online option? I live out of state and won't be able to make it to an actual campus. Also, do they require any clinical days and/or practicums in the community/place of work? Thank you in advance.
  15. Thank you for sharing, thatgirl! It sounds like a great program!
