USAGPAN 2022

Published

This topic is to help those interested in applying for usagpan 2022. (Us army graduate program in anesthesia nursing). I was recently selected to attend in 2021 and I am a recruiter, so I have a unique perspective on this process and I would like to help.

How did everyone do with the army selection board?

Does anyone know how long after the August 1st Baylor deadline it will be until we hear about Baylor’s decision?

And is there an interview after the deadline?

Hope everyone is doing well!

I got an email the other day from the program liaison that said Baylor admission decision letters will be sent out no later than September 1st, with the possibility of them arriving as early as mid-August.

I got selected by the Army board. Hope you all got good news as well!

Best of luck to everyone over the coming weeks.

I did as well, now waiting on Baylor’s decision will be hard but thankfully this year seems so much quicker in administering decisions than previous years!

Hey guys! I was selected by the Army board as well. My recruiter is having me commission this week before Baylor decisions are released. Is this par for the course?

Is the commission contingent on your acceptance to Baylor? I would just make sure you're not locked into a contract as an ICU RN in the case that you don't get into Baylor. Unless that's what you are looking for.

I agree, I personally wouldn’t sign anything until I knew whether I was accepted to Baylor or not.

Your recruiter is misinformed. You cannot commission unless you have an acceptance to Baylor as well. (I was a recruiter last year and am a current USAGPAN student)

It’s exciting that the deadline for submitting the Baylor app has officially past! Hopefully mid August we hear back!

Has anyone heard anything from Baylor lately?

I heard I’m supposed to sign a contract and letter of intent because they’re trying to schedule DCC and BOLC if accepted. Are others doing that this week as well? There was some confusion re: commissioning prior to hearing back from BU so want to make sure I’m on the right track here!

Sad to say this, but I’m glad I’m not the only one encountering confusion. It seems like this process has been confusing for the majority of our recruiters. I signed a contract last week for “PhD CRNA”.   I’m like..whoah guys what’s this, and they ensured my repeatedly that it was for USAGPAN. Because, as mentioned in previous posts, I have no intention of being a 66S at the North Pole ?. I asked what happens if I don’t obtain Baylor acceptance and they flat out told me the contract is for CRNA school, but it still worries me a little. It doesn’t seem like they are familiar with this process.

Other than that password reset email, nothing from Baylor lately.
