I noticed someone had started a thread to rally up nurses applying to the USAGPAN class starting this year so I thought I'd do the same for next year's class! I'll be speaking with a recruiter soon, but I hope to begin the application process very soon! I have about 2 years of critical care experience, just took my GRE and I'm scheduled to take my CCRN next month. I'll be doing that biochem class sometimes before June as well. Anyone else out there applying for next year's Army Nurse Anesthesia Program?

Does anyone know if the interview days are always Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday? I'm having a hard time getting off work to go to some of days because I work night shift.

They are at Fort Bragg. Other locations may be different.

My interview was Mon, Tues, Wed. Initially I didn't think I could get Jose days off so they were going to work with me and split the days up, but I ended up getting those days off.

Have you reached out to LTC Thompson ([email protected]) at Fort Bragg yet? He's the Phase 2 Director. Or LTC Adams ([email protected]) at USAGPAN? He's the Deputy Director for Admissions. I'm sure either one of them would be willing to help you. Or see about doing your Phase 2 Interview at a different location? Also, when you go for your Phase 2 interview, you get orders (DD Form 1610). Don't burn bridges, but I think your employer has to legally let you off work. My manager is current Air Force Reserves with 15+ years in. He's been super helpful navigating the military side of this application process. When I was trying to cover my shifts, he asked for a copy of my orders. Said if I couldn't cover them, I'd be okay with that documentation. It wouldn't be held against me, I'd just be taken off the schedule. Good luck!

Hey thanks for the response, but unfortunately due to a part of my MEPs not being completed they're postponing my interviews. i don't think I will be able to make the October 31st board. I've heard of a December board but I'm not sure. Anyone know anything about December? My recruiter started putting the option out there about applying for Summer 2019 which I'm a little bummed about.

I haven't heard of a December board. I only know of the June and October boards. Sorry, that is a bummer. Hopefully all comes through in time for Oct!

Hey all,

Any other VA applicants lurking on this thread? I just had my panel interview via telephone with Dr. Reedy and company yesterday, and I think it went fairly well. Like most of you, I won't find out until late October/first week of November. Good luck everyone!

Thank you for the information. I actually had LTC Adams information before I even did MEPS offering to set up a Phase 2 interview but my recruiter is saying that since one part of MEPs isn't done they won't interview me. I emailed LTC Adams directly to see if he could give me a conditional interview pending my one insignificant part of MEPS so hopefully he gets back to me. Has he been responsive to emails from possible candidates?

Yes LTC Adams has been very helpful in answering all my questions and he usually responds in a timely manner.

Just got my acceptance letter today!!!!! Still going through a few paperwork formalities with USAREC but all in all I should have my packet for the October board good to go soon! Can't wait to see and meet you all next year!!!

Yes, LTC Adams has been quick to respond to the few emails we've exchanged. You could also try to call the USAGPAN front desk @ 210-221-5377. Good luck!

You got an acceptance letter already? From NEU/ USAGPAN? I was under the impression those weren't sent out until after the Board meets in OCT, since admission is dependent on Board selection. Are you a Direct Accession candidate?
