hello,

I'm an Iranian nurse recently graduated in the Philippines .I have no Experience.

what do you think people? Where should I apply ? I personally prefer North America .

Is there any good Agency ? Is it better to apply by myself?

Do I have any chance for USA or Canada at all?

Thank you .

Are you eligible for some kind of visa that will permit you to work in the US? If not, the other considerations don't really matter.

Hey elkpark

What do you mean exactly?

How can I know what kind of visa suits me the best?

Thanks.

Thank you universalnurse for the advice.

Generally there are 2 visas for nurses EB3 and H1b. EB3 is immigrant visa also known as green card. If management the EB2 or 1 may be used but usually it is EB3. H1b is just a work visa and if hospital is attached to a university it may not be affected by the cap otherwise H1b is applied for in April and if successful an interview with starting date of Oct however the H1b also covers other professions to competition is fierce. Either way it is the employer that has to file and start the process and H1b is employer responsibility to pay and they can not ask you to pay towards it.

Wow thank you very much for the information Silverdragon102. I will search about these visas.

Do you know how can I find an employer?

Do you know any good agency?

Specializes in Complex pedi to LTC/SA & now a manager.

Are you an experienced specialty trained nurse? What state do you wish to live & work? There is no shortage of new grad inexperienced nurses anywhere. There is little need for importing nurses in the major metropolitan areas (NYC Philly Chicago CA San Francisco LA Chicago etc)

I personally prefer Texas .

I just don't know the steps.

I wish someone could help me :smokin:

So your starting point would be looking at the Board of Nursing website for Texas, links to the various sites can be found at the bottom of the page. Once you have met requirements and passed NCLEX then you start contacting hospitals in Texas and see if they are doing International recruitment

Check out this site for details on the requirements for getting your license in any of the states. Also - don't forget to process your visa. Sometimes having a job lined up can help you get the visa, it could be used as a sort of sponsorship - or if you know someone in the States who could sponsor you that would also help. Good luck!

Thanks Annie.

Do you also know any good Agency ?

The op can not process the visa for the US if they are the main applicant and not marrying a USC then they must have a employer and the employer is the one to process the visa whether it is immigrant or work
