Specializes in ED/Rapid Response/ICU.

Hi everyone. How do we know everything we sent for our acceptance packet is ok? I sent mine in about 2 weeks ago.

Specializes in Flight/CCU/Ambulatory Care.

Are you referring to the University of South Alabama? If so, they don't tell you anything. You do get an email stating they received your package. I'm a current FNP student there and got my acceptance letter about 6 weeks after the application deadline. Good luck!

Yea, I haven't gotten an email related to them receiving it yet.

I am referring to the shots, physical, etc. not the actually acceptance letter. I got that over a month ago.

Specializes in NICU, Pediatric Urgent Care.

I graduate with my BSN in December - been an ADN for about 5 1/2 years now. I asked one of the advisors if they let you apply prior to graduation and he said yes - I go to apply for the Spring 2014 today and see the deadline is THIS WEEK. I am filling out the NursingCAS site right now and entering in all of my classes from my transcripts tonight. After that I'll just need to get my transcripts in....

Has anyone else applied prior to graduation??? Any luck getting in? If I apply and get told no (because I don't have my BSN yet) will they keep all of my information so that I can apply for the fall??

Specializes in Hospital medicine; NP precepting; staff education.

I'm hoping to hear of my acceptance in the next 6-8 weeks. Fingers crossed! (I'm going for the FNP/ACNP dual role for Spring 2014 start).

Out of curiosity, do they send rejection letters at the same time?

Specializes in ED/Rapid Response/ICU.

I got my acceptance letter exactly 8 weeks after app due date. I start in 3 weeks.

Good Luck!

a little off topic but has anyone seen any recent reviews of USA? there are so many bad ones out there, and the fact that it's pretty expensive made me stop filling out the annoying nursingcas and forget about them for a while.

cost-wise south alabama is pretty reasonable compared to other np programs. usa online students pay the distance ed fees...if i'm correct i think it's around 480 per credit hour. duke is 1400 per credit hour if i recall correctly! yes i read those negative reviews too but there are always going to be folks who vent on forums about the negative stuff....i have also heard a lot of positive feedback first hand from other nurses at my hospital who are in the program :)

good luck to you....i applied for spring anp primary care program and i can't wait to find out!

my mistake, I was looking at the out of state per credit hour cost. are any of the nurses you know in the acute or family concentrations?

Hey! Yes, I'm currently enrolled in the Emergency (Adult/FamilyNP) Program, I started this Summer and really enjoyed my first class. Fall classes start next wk and they include Patho and health management, can't wait to see how it goes ;-)

Yes, I'm currently enrolled in the Summer 2013/FT/Emergency (Acute/FNP)...I really enjoyed my first semester. I start classes next wk which will inculde PATHO and Nurse management. I had a friend recently graduate in Dec, found a job and said great things about the program.
