US Air Force COT 10-06

Published

Hey All!!!!

I know this has been mentioned before, but I also know that it is buried somewhere within all of the information on this website so I thought I would create a new thread.

This is for all people going to COT 10-06 in August.

If you are on Facebook, we have a Facebook page started that you will be able to find called "US Air Force COT 10-06" Join the group or post questions and messages on here.

Can't wait to see you all in August!!!

I found the thread from Weneferd for the October COT, its under USAF COT 11-01

Thanks for getting is started Weneferd!

I was also told OCT is a possibility, but I am thinking I want to enjoy this last holiday with zero responsibilities and make the Jan class. I am going to take the entire month of December off and have fun before COT

Hi Dlinlee, glad to "see" you! I am med/surg now but would have loved to do OB. BUt the time is not right for me now. Do you know where you are going after COT? I'm heading ot Andrews. I have one of my sons at Dover so its a perfect fit. I can't wait to go!!! Went running today and it was not a good day for me:(. Too hot and of course I did it in the middle of the day, not a smart move.

My recruiter's wife went through COT in the last class and gave us alot of info and advice to go by. The first week was awful but after that its great. You just need to go into it with the correct mindset. Remember it only 5 weeks and you have a goal to obtain.

Not sure where I am going after COT. I am not even sure if I will be going in October. I hope to find out sometime this week if I will be going. My recruiter is working to put me in a spot from someone that was to go in October but found out that she will not be able to make it. She was going to Nellis for NTP and Eglin for her assignment. I am sorry that she is not able to go, but happy that I may be able to go sooner...and she had pretty nice orders! But if for some reason I don't end up in October then January is mine for sure.

I am trying to sell my house and it's a pretty tough market right now, so any extra time would be ok anyway...but I sure am excited!!

I have been running, but what I am really worried about is the push ups and sit ups!! I have a site that I am going to start using, its called one hundred push ups... one hundred push ups ...its a 6 week program, guess I must get busy with it!

I will haveto look at that site....as I said my push ups suck ! We will be putting our house up for sale soon. So if it does not sell I will be a geo bach till it happens. The market up here is awful and of course we have a large home and that market is not too healthy, but we will try.

My recruiter too is working on Oct for me and I hope it happens but if not I have a spot in the next class. I just want to get this ball rolling, it seems like I have been waiting forever. I also want my son at the graduation at Maxwell and if I do go to Jan w Feb grad he will miss it. He is being deployed again to Kuwait. My other son will be there with his family and of course my husband and daughters.

APB to past COT graduates:

what paperwork do i need to bring filled out to COT?

i got my orders in the mail today and it says to fill out the forms in the welcome packet. i have that and was wondering do they all need to be filled out and how many copies? i don't want to be a complete tard when i get there with not having enough of something or having one thing stapled wrong. OHHH and also, so we need to bring our medical records from MEPS or is that just brought to our permanent duty station?

THANKS!

You really don't need to fill out anything before hand, that I can remember. I was all worried about that too. But everyone doesn't arrive with the same info. You may find yourself much more prepared than many.

Do take copies of your birth certificate and dependents. Your shot record! marriage license, etc. Make lots of copies of your orders, front and back.

You will want to hand carry your nursing license, BLS, ACLS cards that you have. You won't need them at COT, but when you get to NTP or your station.

Never give anyone your last copy of anything.

I just got a email from my old recruiter (he is now stationed at Randolph HQ for recruiting) he told me once I get my orders form my present recruiter I am set to go; no going back to MEPS. Thank goodness I felt like a grandmother (which I am...LOL) to all the kids there. Though I will say I loved the fact that I was in better shape and well under my weight as opposed to the other 2 females. And they were both about 20 yrs old.

The Maxwell AFB COT/OTS site has all the info about what to bring as far as paperwork is concerned. But I will double check with my old recruiter as his wife just finished COT in June. Also will ask him for the attachment of the ppp his wife made for his people going to COT, very helpful.

if you could get that ppt i would love you forever. ha. well, i will love everyone for forever because of all the help i've been getting from you all!

my recruiter finally got back to me and told me that filling out the paperwork wasn't necessary and that i could fill it out there, but filling it out ahead of time wouldn't be bad either. ha.

question about watches: the regs just say conservative. any more direction than that from people? i have a metal fossil watch but idk if that would be the best to bring. should i try and find a digital watch instead?

As far as watches, a recent COT grad told me a digital watch with a lap timer would be the best.
