My down syndrome thirteen year old neice was tak to the er today. She has mesenteric addentitis. Everything was in normal ranfe except her Neutrophils were 9.7 bil/l with a range of 1.8-8.0 so they were high and her lymphocytes were 0.7 bil/l with a range of 1.2-5.2. I understand why the neutrophils are high, but why are the lymphs low? Her wbc was 11.3 with a range of 4.5-13.0. Any info. on why the lymphs would be low would be great. Also, amI reading this wrong, is this not the absolute count?

Sorry we can't give medical advice here. Why don't you ask the ER doc or nurse?

Hello, maryk8
We welcome you to allnurses.com
We see that you are understandably concerned about your niece. Please speak with her healthcare providers about her lab results. Or, speak to her parents/guardians to get more information about her condition.
We hope she improves and all resolves without any problem.
