UPMC Shadyside 2010 hopefuls

I'm hoping to get into Shadyside in either sprig 2010 or the fall. Anyone else out there already accepted or trying as well?

I have CPR training tomorrow at the school, but I didn't write down exactly where to go. Where is it? Thanks!

I think you just go to the building and the security guard shows you what classroom. I don't know though so maybe someone else knows more than I do.

Hi kbm, Thanks! I guess I'll find out tomorrow. Also, I don't know where you're commuting from, but I may be taking the city bus to school. I'm thinking it will be cheaper than anything else at this point. TTYL. :)

I hope you found the location all right Rachkud! And I'm commuting from I guess the waterworks area? I don't know what it's actually called I'm not from the area so maybe you all will know what I'm talking about. I thought about the bus but I looked online at the price of a bus pass and it was like $80 a month I think. Where are you commuting from?

ok so i need help finding a good place to buy some furniture. As some of you know I'm not from the Pittsburgh area so i have no idea where I can buy some inexpensive furniture. Does anyone know?

It all depends on your price range...but there are a few places to go. Value City Furniture is pretty decent, especially the clearance center in the back and the one I know of is in Monroeville on US Bus Rte 22 (William Penn Hwy). Levin Furniture is pretty decent on prices as well. But it all depends on your price range! If you have the ability, you can also check out Roomful Express and they are in the North Hills (McKnight Road- US Truck 19) and Pittsburgh Mills (off PA Rte 28). That's what I've found anyway since I've been here...and I hope this helps.

So I never thought I would have to say "my dog ate my homework" BUT my dog ate some of my Shadyside papers :eek: So can someone please tell me when we are allowed to get our first PPD shot?

you are alloud to get it starting Feb 1st. "this must be done within 2-3 weeks of starting the program. It must be done any time after February 1, 2010 per policy." this is a direct quote from an email I got from Joanne a while back. Let me know if you need anything else!

Yeah I got mine yesterday and they are going to check it out tomorrow then my next one will be around the 16th...talk about a time crunch lol

I got my first set read today too. So do we basically just do the same test twice just 2-3 weeks apart? or do we go back in 2-3 weeks to have them read the one they planted the first time?
