2016 UPenn BSN/MSN Applicants

Hi all,

I couldn't find a thread for the UPenn BSN/MSN 2016 summer applicants, so I decided to start one. I think it will be a great way for us to connect and support each other.

Is anyone else on here currently applying?

I signed up for a phone interview and received an email last week saying that they'd get back to me about the date/time of the interview early this week -- still nothing though! Anyone else in a similar situation? I think I may email them today, but I'm not sure if they're just running behind schedule.

I'm in the same boat as well- signed up for the phone interview but haven't heard anything. I called admissions this morning and they said they were running behind schedule and that the emails should go out either today or early next week!

I just received an email today with the itinerary and my interviewer! It's at 8AM and I'm a little worried about being jet lagged since I'm from California, but I'm landing around 4 o'clock, so hopefully I'll be recovered and ready by the time I interview. Where are you traveling from? :)

I'm just trying to put down some ideas so that I really remember main points and don't veer off on a tangent. Does anyone know if the interviewer has read our personal statement and gone through our application? I've been assuming so but I'd rather be sure and not assume. I should probably ask FC. I don't want to be repetitive but at the same time, I want to make sure I really get my points across.

Hi everyone, for those of you going in person, do you know what time we are suppose to show up? a previous email i received said we should plan to be busy from 9 - 3:30, but the itinerary i received was that tours were at 10 and 11, and that my interview was at 11. Does that mean we don't have to show up at 9? I am a little confused....

Hi everyone, congratulations to all those who have received interviews!!

I applied to UPenn with a 3.9 GPA and research experience so I am hoping that is enough to pull my application for the PMHNP program. I have not heart from Penn at all about an interview, though and it is very nerve-wracking! Do you know if they are still sending out interview notification emails?

Has anyone not received an interview schedule yet? I got an email a few weeks ago that I would be receiving an email regarding details of the interview, but it's been two weeks and still nothing.

Hello friends, just wanted to share some interview questions from the other week: (1) Why nursing over medicine? (2) Why your speciality? (3) Tell me about your volunteer work. (4) Tell me about your leadership roles. (5) What is the role of NP in said speciality (nurse-midwife, mental health, etc). (6) How do you handle stress? (7) What professional organizations are you involved in?

Does anyone else still not have a date for their interview? I had to schedule mine for a different day because I won't be in the States until later.

I applied for the Adult Gerontology acute care NP program and have not heard back yet- an email that went out said decision by early December and have not been notified with a decision yet, anyone else? I did not have an interview, thoughts?
