Columbia ETP 2016
Hi! I am a nervous wreck and would love to hear about y'all as applicants! I am graduating a semester early (cough cough accelerated?) from a top twenty institution with a science degree. I have a 3.5 cum GPA, ~3.8 for ETP pre-reqs. Taking the GRE in about a week, but will like do 70% in quant, 90% verbal. I went to an open house over a year ago, but obviously things have changed! I do a lot of volunteer work with diverse populations. I have three certs (ekg, phleb, emt) and have a nice amount of clinical and shadowing experience. I also have experience being a patient...long story. I am applying to through the DNP in peds. Obviously there is so much more to my application and my abilities than this list, and I'm sure the same is true of each of you! I was wondering if others would mind sharing where they are at and their "angles", I just feel so lost and have no idea if I'm a viable applicant! Thanks in advance...

Traditional BSN or Accelerated!?
Hi! I am a third year undergraduate student who has not studied nursing. I am pretty sure that I want to become some sort of nurse practitioner or CRNA. After Spring '15, I will be two (challenging) classes away from finishing my major. However, my school does offer a traditional BSN program. Here are my options: 1. At the end of Spring '15, apply to the traditional BSN program here. Graduate with a BSN in Spring 2017, letting my first three years of undergrad go to waste (in terms of degree pursuit). I am like 98% sure that I would be accepted. Apply to grad school after that, either immediately or after working for a few years (for CRNA). 2.Complete my undergraduate path as planned and graduate with a B.S. in Fall of '15. Apply to several ABSN/MSN and ABSN/DNP programs and hope I get in!!! I would really like to return to the northeast. Issue is, these programs are insanely competitive and there's a huge chance that I will not get in anywhere... Any advice? Thanks in advance.

CRNA from non-traditional background?
Hi! I am currently an undergraduate who has completed two years of study. I could potentially graduate with a BA in biology at the end of my third year. My ultimate goal is to become a CRNA, but I know I need a BSN first. There is only one ABSN/MSN program that I know of that offers a CRNA specialty, and that is at UPenn. Does anyone have advice for me regarding programs and paths to take given my situation? Thanks!
