2016 UPenn BSN/MSN Applicants

I couldn't find a thread for the UPenn BSN/MSN 2016 summer applicants, so I decided to start one. I think it will be a great way for us to connect and support each other.

Is anyone else on here currently applying?

Any idea of the best / cheapest/ still convenient place to stay for the night prior to the interview? haha I too just got an invite for an interview (acute care peds) today. Extremely excited for all of us!

Also, do you have any idea on the stats of acceptances from interviews? - is there some other thread for that from the past?

Congrats to everyone!! Got an interview for FNP and am so excited! I'm curious as well about the stats on how many of the applicants get an interview and how many receive an acceptance, but I haven't seen any info about it online or through these message boards. Does anyone have an idea of how long we have to decide between an in-person and phone interview?

Curious if anyone else received an email saying they were still reviewing applicants and interview decisions would be posted Monday. Not sure what to make of it!

Hey everyone!

I'm pretty stoked to have come across this thread as there are no threads for MSN applicants. I was recently accepted to the Adult-Gerontology Primary Care Nurse Practitioner track (start date, Summer 2016!)

Also, for those deciding between phone vs. campus interview, I had a phone interview. I'm pretty sure it says on the website that phone and campus interviews are weighted equally.

wow I am so glad I found this thread - somehow I missed the part where we had to fill out a midterm grade report! glad I caught it in time. not so glad I'm only scraping a B this term but hopefully it won't count too much against me!

I would say the cheapest and nicest bet for staying in Philly would be to airbnb it. Plenty of hotels but all pretty pricey. Probably the ideal place to stay would be right near Schuylkill bank park around 23rd and Walnut. The best parts of Philly are in walking distance and you can cross the South Street bridge and be on Penn's nursing campus in minutes.

I believe they said 75% of people get interviews. Feel free to correct if I am wrong.

It might be different for the MSN only program. I didn't get an email like that. They said that early spring is when decisions are due. I can't wait that long. I think I might look in other threads and see when they found out. I've got to move my entire family cross country so I need lead time, for sure. Will you post when you find out something?
