I just had to stop back here as I soooo remember coming to this thread awaiting my first semester of nursing school to start in 8/09. Now it's been two weeks since I graduated Summa Cum Laude with my BSN! Now I'm spending this summer prepping for the NCLEX. I start work as a GN in the ICU at the hospital I had hoped to be hired at when I set out on this nursing path. I just wanted to pop back in to encourage you all, and let you know that I did and so can you! Sure it was tough at times, but you know what? I miss it and LOVED every minute of it. Good luck everyone and I hope you all reach your dreams as I have mine

Oh yeaa! Great job! I can't wait to be where you are. Sounds like you impressed the right people to be hired on right away. Any advice for the rest of us students who hope to be just as lucky in finding work? Especially in such a coveted field- ICU! awesome!
The best advise I can give is be humble, ask questions and don't ever get cocky. Remember you're students. Teachers want to teach, and if you come across with the eye rolling "I know THAT" attitude, people get upset. I seen far too much of this with my classmates. I think alot was a fear of not knowing something they should maybe, so would play extra cocky maybe? But my point is, school and clinical is the place to learn. Best of luck everyone =)

Oh, congrats !
Could you help shed some light for us and say what state you got hired in? Thanks in advanced!
