Good morning!
So I'm going to try this whole process over again, as a repeat offender...I mean applicant for UW's BSN program 2014. I applied last year, made it through the proctored essay portion but was not accepted. After nursing (haha) my wounds w/ large amounts of ice cream, chocolate & such, I've recently found my mojo to try again. Anyone else re-applying or 1st time applying for 2014? I know it's extremely early in the game, but those deadlines come up faster than you think! I've saved all the tips applicants that have applied more than once and hope that 2nd time is the charm.
Anyone else out there getting ready for it? We got this
@ jessica, so this time you put your in depth interaction with patients? and last time you put your military work experience?
@ brooke. It's great your an LPN, I feel you might have an advantage because you're almost there! haha. Under healthcare I put experiences where I got to see nurse's work and directly had patient contact. Any other experience I put under community. I feel my responsibility descriptions were too long, like Jessica I went in depth on the healthcare section o.o I had other community involvement that I had to leave out because it wouldn't fit on two pages -.- I wanted them to see i was more busy.. hopefully it wasnt' a mistake haha.
Last year I put my healthcare place and than put really detailed healthcare patient interactions. It's like I put the essay questions and resume on the same page...no idea what I was thinking. This year, I put healthcare place/hours/supervisor and than put a short. detailed description of what my jobs were.
they'll email you is the day they put in the guidelines. If I remember correctly if you're not invited to the proctored essay you receive a rejection email. I know they said on the info session sometimes people get in without writing the proctored essay but haven't seen anyone thats posted on these forums happen to them.
