Hi everyone! Just wanted to start a forum for those applying to University of Washington's ABSN program for Fall 2020. I'm applying from California and unfortunately, I don't have any healthcare experience working directly with/under nurses as I'm an ophthalmic technician. I graduated last year with a BS in Health Science with a focus in Community Health.
Any feedback/advice on becoming a stronger applicant are welcome, or sharing your progress in the application is great too! Thanks! ?

? hoping for a positive change as well.
I hear a lot of schools have changed to online for now.
Hi All,
There hasn't been any movement on the waitlist since my last email. This is actually kind of a slow period for the waitlist. Our BSN Admissions will conclude in a few weeks which might prompt movement, as well as other school admissions decisions.
The SoN is working very hard to make sure our nursing students will have quality education in the program, and I don't foresee any delay in the start date. Obviously we need to play things by ear but our transition to online learning has seemed to prove as effective as possible. Let's hope all is better by Fall!
In other news, for those admitted and completing prerequisites, you can simply send screenshots or unofficial transcripts to us at the SoN. you can send them to [email protected]. Don't forget UW Admissions will need an official copy as well to add to your student record. It's unfortunate our systems don't communicate.
Lastly, I have transitioned from my Admissions/Recruitment role to the new Undergraduate Student Advisor! For Admissions/Recruitment business, you can start to email Cher Espina at [email protected]. She will be the point person until we hire my replacement. This news will impact those who wanted to meet with me in a few months to discuss their applications, as Cher will likely take those on.
Cheers,
Adrian

Hey almoore, I noticed that the UW PCE autumn 2020 time schedule has been posted. I'm not sure how complete it is for the ABSN program classes, but it gives a good idea of when non-clinical classes may be for the autumn quarter.

Hey,
Does anyone know the exact date we are suppose to find out about UW Admissions? I’m coming from the Bay Area and have been trying to make plans on when/where to move this Summer. Makes me feel uneasy we haven’t just been admitted yet .Also, does anyone have any input if you have heard from admissions or SoN if COVID-19 has changed anything (start date, clinicals, etc.)?
Also if you are an accepted app/waitlist for the 2020 ABSN starting in the fall, would anyone would like to do a zoom call and do a little meet and greet?
Sending y’all the best!
