Hi everyone! Just wanted to start a forum for those applying to University of Washington's ABSN program for Fall 2020. I'm applying from California and unfortunately, I don't have any healthcare experience working directly with/under nurses as I'm an ophthalmic technician. I graduated last year with a BS in Health Science with a focus in Community Health.
Any feedback/advice on becoming a stronger applicant are welcome, or sharing your progress in the application is great too! Thanks! ?
@dtsunrise93 I have not seen a UW ABSN facebook group yet, only for 2019-2020 cohort I saw. I jus made one cause I noticed that there wasn't one made yet. I hope that is OK?
Here is the link if anyone wants to join and chat about the upcoming cohort or plans or just getting to know one another! :)

Link Above is for the UW ABSN 2020-2021 cohort facebook group.
Looking forward to connecting with you soon!
@Lauren Siler oh that makes sense. that's awesome though, I'm sure you'll make it off the waitlist! I don't want to wait any longer for an update!

This year I was accepted to the ABSN by mimicking what I did last year on the BSN. I really think it comes down to how you present your experiences and your understanding of nursing. I would be happy to give anyone some pointers!
Hi there! I am planning to apply for the 2021 program. I would love some of those pointers! Thank you!

Hi! I don't know when the exact date is when we're supposed to hear from UW admissions- I think they said May-June, but haven't heard anything too specific beyond that. I also am moving to Seattle and trying to figure out the timing and location of my move (coming from the other side of the state); and also very curious about how COVID may have/will impact things for our year in the program...I suppose only time will tell with that. I'd be very interested in a little meet and greet! Does anyone know if a facebook group of any sort has been started?
