Hey Guys!
Didn't see anyone start one yet for this application round for UW nursing and though may as well start one.
Hopefully this will help everyone out that reads this, and that joins into the conversation.
Ive been reading the past BSN application posts, and already learned a lot of info!
Hi jellybelly63,
Can I ask you what the nursing committee commented on? I applied last year too and met with an advisor afterwards to for the same reason. He told my proctored essay was good but my resume and personal statement weren't what they were looking for. Having gone through the application process again this year I can totally see where I went wrong last year. I'm an MA but i've worked as a supervisor for the past few years. Last year I geared my essay towards administrative accomplishments and weaknesses, when i should have talked more about my experience with nurses. This past year i worked a lot more in our surgery centers and shadowed more nurses so I'm hoping i was able to paint a better picture in my essay and resume.
Hi savestheworld, I forget her name but the lady on the online info session called me. She said my personal essay and proctored essay showed that I took on too much responsibility which made them feel that I would not be able to complete the program. I understand they're concern especially with the info session's main point being showing the committee you can make it through the program.
It sounds like we both made silly/minor mistakes in where we were heading with our essays. This program is so competitive I know the committee it just slitting hairs by decision time.
Hi guys! I thought I'd jump in here. This is my first time applying, but I've been reading the previous years posts pretty closely and they have been super helpful throughout the application process! Is anyone else on pins and needles this week? I know we probably won't get an email until tomorrow, but it's still really hard to not constantly check my inbox today.
Congrats! I did as well. Anyone have any tips for the essay? I took it last year and I was super nervous. It felt like I was sitting on the edge of a roller coaster as it was about to drop. I remember the math being easy, but when I met with an adviser they said I got one wrong. I also remember feeling clueless for 2 of the 3 patient scenarios presented so i went with the one i felt most familiar with.

I applied to the campus in Spokane! Honestly I'm just so relieved to have all my applications finished. I'm sure I don't have nearly as much experience as other applicants, but I have about 240 hours volunteering at a hospital and about the same amount as a caregiver at a retirement home. What about you guys?
