University of Tulsa Nurse Anesthetist Program

Published

Good news for the people in Oklahoma. The University of Tulsa is up for initial accreditation from the Council on Accreditation for the Fall of 2016. Hopefully all goes well and we will finally have a CRNA program in the state of Oklahoma.

Does anybody know if this program is considered “front loaded” or “integrated”? I’ve looked at the semester breakdown, but cannot figure out how this compares to other schools. Just trying to figure out if this school is a good fit for me! Thanks!

It is a front-loaded program with clinicals starting in the 5th semester. Clinicals start with this course, DNPA 9164 Clinical Practicum I.

Yes! It is front loaded. I am currently in the program. Let me know if you have any questions.

Have you enjoyed the program so far? Does anyone know how many people are interviewing this year? I have an interview at the end of October..

About 55 applicants will be interviewed and about 15 will be chosen.

@Samraepratyes so far I have enjoyed the program! Very busy and intense but it is doable. Lots of resources too

Same here. This won't stop me from trying. I know I will be a CRNA someday and won't stop till I get there.

I interviewed with this school got an offer but chose another school. All I have to say, it's a wonderful school. The interview was pleasant, felt welcomed. It's a new program so @lollyabats would be the best one to answer your questions regarding this school. I decided to go to UAMS, which is also a new program, a bit-intense, but overall treating me well.

Not to hijack this thread, but I am I highly believer if anyone wants to pursue CRNA school, they will not put all their eggs in one basket. Check out UAMS, the applications open yesterday (Oct. 15); I'm running the UAMS 2021 thread and will be updating it with any new information about the programs and changes.

@lollyabats best of luck in your studies! We could've been classmates.

Thank you @CHF24 best of luck to you too. TU is definitely a great school and it is super organized. I attended TU for my first degree in biochemistry so I am familiar with the school.

So I had applied for this upcoming year and recently my completed application no longer appears under my account.

Has this happened to anyone else? Does this mean anything? That I've been rejected? That my application has been processed? That something was wrong with my application and it's invalid?

I just find it odd as I've not experienced something like that applying for grad schools before.

Figured I'd check here before giving them a call tomorrow

Funny you say that because I was starting to wonder about my application too. I interviewed for the first cohort and I reapplied and thought I would get another chance at interviewing. I submitted my app before the deadline with all the supporting materials and received and email verifying that it was received but I haven't heard anything back yet. The weird thing is that I never was asked to submit a payment for this application, did that happen to anybody else? So either they are not interested in interviewing me again or something happened to my application...

Does your application not appear under your login too at this point?

Eitherway that is peculiar

@TexasRN90 Just out of curiosity, how did you know there would be 55 interviews? I haven't been able to find that information. Also, do you know if all the interview invitations have gone out for this year? I haven't received an invite and was curious if I should still have hope.
