Hey everyone, I just thought I would start a thread on the USF 2024 DNAP admissions. As the priority deadline of August 15th is approaching fast, I would love to hear from others.

I really wanna know what kind of class I can take while I am working my way through getting my ICU experience. I was planning to register for some classes and wasn't sure which once.

I'm taking it through Johns Hopkins. They have prerequisite classes for health professionals. It's very doable. It's asynchronous with homework, quiz, and online lab due every week. I know two other people in CRNA who took this and recommended it! The one downside is that it's on the pricier side.

If you look a portagelearning there are classes you can take such as chemistry. They are self paced all online and relatively cheap. I am submitting the rest of my material this week passed my CCRN yesterday. Good luck to everyone!

Thank you so much for this valuable info, I will look into the online classes you shared

Did you take more than one chem through portage? I know they ask for one chem but I'm wondering if taking two will make me more competitive.

No, I just took the one chemistry course. Honestly unless it is like an advanced course I don't assume it would make a difference much. If you have been out of school for a while it could be helpful to show you are still capable. How are your other stats if you don't mind me asking?

Overall UG GPA: 3.59
Nursing GPA: 3.7 ish
Science GPA: 4.0
Scheduled to take my CCRN next month. 1 year stepdown, 1 year ICU experience & now starting a new position at a neuro ICU this august. GRE is pending. I ask about the chemistry because I have a chemistry for health sciences from undergrad but I don't know if a general chemistry would look better so I'm debating. I might push back my application til next cycle just because I know how competitive it is and I don't have much extracurriculars at the moment (Charge experience, shadowing etc)
