Anyone have any insight on this program? I'm in the process of applying and would love to know about the school!
I too have applied for the accelerated program in the fall and wish those stats were available. Someone told me there were about 35 seats available for the accelerated program. This came from another student so I'm not sure if it's a reliable figure, but it sounds about right. I'm currently taking pathophysiology so I'm focused on that and just trying to remain positive.
Good Luck
I am getting ahead of myself...but if I were to move to Tampa do any local residents have an idea on where to live? I have heard that some areas around the campus are less than desirable. I am always reading about how people's cars get broken into and such. Its kinda scary for an out-of-towner. I wouldn't mind living a 10-15 min. drive away if those areas are much nicer, but I would probably like to live closest to campus as possible.
I wanted to provide a quick update. I looked at the "Beacon", which is the College of Nursing undergraduate newsletter and it contained the following dates regarding fall admissions: July 9th, 2nd Degree Review Begins, July 23rd (approx.) 2nd Degree Chosen. So it looks like it may be as late as the 23rd before the selections are announced. Notices will be sent via SOAR. Good luck!

I've been in Tampa for five years. I like it here. Its a big place, but its not huge like London or New York. There are some good places and bad. I like the New Tampa area which is like 10 minutes away from USF, also Hyde Park, and some parts of South Tampa(but that is a lil bit of a drive). New Tampa is probably the area I like best because it is only like 10 mins away from USF, I've always felt safe there, and its pretty clean. There are apartments(apartments on fowler/ fletcher avenue) near USF that I would not live at, but I have had many friends that lived in that area and they were fine with it. Also if you are fine with a 20 min drive, Brandon is not a bad place to live at. There are some nice and decent priced apartments/ homes there.
Apart from that, there are alot of fun things to do here. You do need a car unless you plan on staying on campus. If you live off campus you can get by without one, but the public transportation sucks. Its not like a city where buses are running every five minutes. Its more like every 30 mins from what friends told me.
