Hello there! I just wanted to start this thread to see if there were any people applying to USA for next fall for their nurse practitioner program? I am applying to the BSN to DNP-Neonatal Nurse Practitioner program. Anyone know how the current pandemic might affect the application process? Thank you all in advanced, looking forward to hearing from you all and starting this journey. Also, I am currently based in FL, anyone else from out of state care to share their experiences with this program being online and all? How was it finding a clinical site and preceptor?

Specializes in Telemetry/ACU then ICU.

Ah, gotcha. Well first semester or two is all the same stuff right? ? and since you're dual role, we'll probably have a few more classes together too ?

Yep, I believe so. I initially applied for the DNP but figured the MSN would be quicker and I could just do a post Master's DNP. I'm so super excited!! I've been all in my Gmail this week! ????

Congratulations to all of y’all!! I got put in the second group so I won’t find out anything until the middle of April! I’ll definitely update y’all then!

Okay yes!! Make sure you do!!

Right? I didn't have time to get notifications about having new emails most of the time because of how often I tapped the app

Specializes in Women's Health/Sexual Health.

Does anyone know when post-masters certificate applicants find out?  I already have a generalist MSN and applied to the WHNP post-graduate certificate and haven't heard anything.   Fingers crossed there's still a chance I got in!

Specializes in CCRN.

Do anyone know how many clinical preceptors are needed total throughout the duration of the program? Also, in what areas(I.e OB, family, acute care)?

Specializes in SRNA.

Accepted! BSN-DNP FNP/ENP :D

Specializes in NICU.

Did anyone on here set up a facebook group by chance?

I don't personally but you could ask in one of the previous semester's post I'm sure. I've linked one of them in this thread before and there is one user named sopranokris (I think) that has answered a few questions in the past on that thread.

Specializes in NICU.

Hi guys! I applied to the fall 2021 PNP program and got in! So excited. Im not usually a poster on forums, but I saw all your guys' happy posts and wanted to join in. I also got accepted to Gonzaga's FNP program, so I have to truly decided now whether to go Peds Primary care or family practice. My background is NICU, and I really only want to work with kids. But, going PNP limits my job prospects. Ugh, decision time. Congrats to everyone!!

Oof. I don't envy that decision. Personally I prioritized my specialty and decided if it wasn't meant to be, I wouldn't make it this round and I would give myself the year to prepare applications for the schools in my state. I also personally like the fully online set up

I had tried to check but IDK if just anyone starts it or it's started by someone through the school since the school has their own facebook page too.

Specializes in future Nurse Practitioner.

I would follow your heart.  If you want to work with kids, do it!  Life is too short to settle.  Best wishes to you!! ❤️
