Specialties NP

Hey guys!

I applied to University of Alabama BSN to FNP program for Fall 2020. I was wondering how many of you also applied for the fall 2020? Also I was wondering how long does it take to hear back from the admission office after the deadline?

Specializes in Pediatric Specialty RN.

With all the craziness going on in the world right now, I've decided to wait another year to pursue my NP, so I declined my acceptance from USA and deferred from Wilkes. Good luck to all!

I think we’re in the first ‘wave’ too. I had a 4.0 GPA and applied in early January as well.

You might be right about that, and maybe I’m just a random outlier..but kudos to y’all for getting your apps in early and having great GPAs. I was worried about mine not being good enough but that was well over a decade ago for nursing and two decades for my other degree and it’s not changing ?

Oh and I think I got my app in 2 weeks before the deadline. I was surprised to see a response so soon...I figured so much got shut down they had some free time to go thru apps! But I’m thrilled to have an answer and start making plans!!

CONGRATS to everyone who was been accepted. To those who are waiting to hear back from the school remember, many schools are not done working with all the applications for this Fall. Good Luck!

Stay safe everyone?

Hi everyone!

CONGRATS to those who've been accepted!

It's been 8 weeks since the deadline & I haven't heard back ☹️ I just sent an email so I'm hoping they reply ASAP. Does anyone happen to know if they've already notified everyone who's been accepted?

I’m not sure.... you usually receive an email and then a letter if accepted, just a letter if your not accepted. Best of luck to you!

There was an email sent out on April 16th saying there would be sending out curriculum info soon and to not email and ask when you will get one. I would think you would have gotten something by now, either way. I am sorry. Lots of luck, maybe things just got overlooked with all the craziness right now

Specializes in Emergency.

Hey there, has anyone done their CasteBranch requirements? I'm not sure how to get the TB blood test done.

Specializes in Critical Care, Palliative Care/Hospice.

I had one through work, but you can go to any of the Request a Test or direct to consumer labs and order one. That’s what I did with varicella titer.

I have. You can get it done at your primary care’s office. The school requires a two step TB skin test. You’ll get the first one done and read within 72 hours and then repeat the process in 3 weeks. Most nursing schools and employers require them

I just did the blood test version with my titers, saves alot little time. There’s a fall facebook group for fall start in case you were interested ?

Specializes in Emergency Department.

Has anyone had negative MMR titers but had shot as a child?
