Hey guys!

I applied to University of Alabama BSN to FNP program for Fall 2020. I was wondering how many of you also applied for the fall 2020? Also I was wondering how long does it take to hear back from the admission office after the deadline?

I applied and was accepted to their PMHNP program as well. I know someone who went through their school for Neonatal NP and found it very organized and well run. I figure that's good news. Most reviews are good. I am waiting on a few other schools, but I likely will attend South Alabama.

Thanks for your reply. I have also applied to a few other schools and was really surprised by how quickly the decision was sent out. It gave me some pause. I would really prefer a school that finds your clinicals for you. I am really wondering how all of this will pan out anyway with the current situation. Good luck and CONGRATS!

it probably depends on when you applied. I applied in January - so it wasn't exactly quick. Also, not everyone who has applied has heard yet. I think we are in the first wave that probably had higher stats. I had a 4.0 BSN GPA and a 3.7 GPA on all of my college coursework (I have other degrees).

I haven't found ANY online programs that find your preceptor for you and I don't have any psych np programs locally so I'm kind of stuck that way. If I had a B&M school locally that found your preceptors for you, I'd definitely be looking at that.

I think we’re in the first ‘wave’ too. I had a 4.0 GPA and applied in early January as well.

I'm not sure there are many schools left that actually find clinical sites for students. Even my local B&M schools don’t do it. Students are expected to network and find their own preceptors. I’m OK with it. I learned early on in my search for NP programs that most schools require this step of students.

I know Duke does for sure. I was also told unc chapel hill and UAB do as well. ??‍♀️

Congratulations. I applied for USA’s fall 2020 Fnp/agacnp program and was accepted as well. ?? I didn’t expect such a quick response either.

I missed the email last Thursday because I wasn’t expecting it this soon! Saw it Friday-I applied for the Dual Role FNP/AGAC for Fall. I know several that are in or have gone thru the dual or adult programs. I keep hearing if you follow the directions, keep up with assignments/readings you’ll be fine. I’ve already kind of started to network from hospital connections (this is where agency/traveling comes in handy!!) and asking classmates that have already done their programs who they have worked with for possible preceptors down the road.

That's good to hear! I had a hard time finding updated threads on this Uni/Program.

CONGRATS! I’m hopeful setting up a preceptor will be a smooth process for us all. I reside in NC. How about everyone else??

I'm glad to have some feedback about the program. Also I'm hoping for a smooth process with clinical sites and finding preceptors.

I reside in GA!?
