University of San Francisco Spring 2019 Applicants

Nursing Students School Programs

Hi everyone! I noticed there wasn't a forum yet for the Spring 2019 applicants that applied to the University of San Francisco. I'm hoping others can join as we come together to see if we made it! Recently I just checked my portal and it said that my decision has been sent in mail. I'm not sure if that's a good sign or not. Has anyone else had their "decision mail sent" status up on the portal yet? If so, let me know!

I bet you are!! At least you know your letter is in the mail, that must be kind of a relief! Except no mail today due to George H.W. Bush funeral so yours may get delayed an extra day! Nope, nothing new with my status yet... still says awaiting decision! It's killing me! But the lady I spoke with said my decision should be finalized next week. Also when the admissions counselor called me to update me on my status last week he said expect to hear mid December? We're you given the same information when they called you to let you know your application status?

For me it was different. When I called all they told me was that it was already decided and that it was sent in the mail on Monday. At least that's what I think that meant. The guy I spoke to at my informational interview gave me the same information that you got though. He said to expect decisions to be given at least by the end of december. I thought that when I read that email stating that I would get a decision by december 10 if I submitted my application by november 15 was the reason they sent it so early. So I'm super nervous because from the other person we talked to on this forum, they said that for their term they sent out rejections first. So I really don't know what to think, I just want to receive something in the mail.

Yeah I called the lady, and she said they send out letter right before Christmas break, it's soon, but not soon enough. Let's pray that this will be my Christmas gift this year!!

I'm definitely hoping that you get an acceptance letter as your Christmas gift, or even better, before then! Is that all that the lady told you? And did you only ask when letters would be sent?

Hey! How did you sign up for the informational interview? Was it with Milford Miles? Just curious. Maybe because you went to that they sent you an early decision!

I should have went to one of those!

Milford Miles is my admission counselor for my application status, but I had the information interview with Marcus Mason. In my honest opinion, it was a really nice way for them to get to know me. I'm not sure if he wrote things down or recorded my audio, but he was able to in a sense "put a picture to a name" if you know what I mean. He was able to understand my hardships and it helped him understand my passion to get into nursing. I was also able to ask any questions I had from financial aid to decision making. He also asked for my academic stats which also made it clear where I stood when I am compared to those who do get accepted. I think what I liked the most was his honesty though, because he was straightforward but also very caring because every persons experiences are different. I highly recommend you get a chance to meet him haha. Did they not offer it to you on your email?

I know your responding to someone else but thought I would share my experience as well....I wasn't offered that experience anywhere I was just offered a informational meeting at the Sacramento campus, not a one on one session! That could definitely be why your hearing early!! The only other thing I got was a call last week from Milford miles and he was just updating me of my status. Did you get a call from him as well?

What email was it in?

No I never got one I don't think. That makes me nervous. I went on a tour of the nursing program, but it's not the same. How exactly did they email you about it?

They know a lot about you, so you'll probably get an acceptance!

Marcus Mason was the one who sent me the email directly, saying he was in my area and wanted to hold an interview with me. There was no say whether they only gave out these interviews for a specific crowd of applicants. I thought everyone was able to have these type of interviews with them. When I set up my appointment, you had to choose the location you wanted and the time you wanted the interview to be. Although, I never received a call from Milford Miles. I don't typically pick up numbers I am not familiar with because as of lately, there has been a lot of those spam calls going around. And if they need to really need to reach me, they often leave a voicemail. Did Milford Miles leave a voicemail? Or did you just pick up the call?

So the email wasn't from USF, but from Marcus Mason directly as I mentioned to lvb91. I'm honestly not sure how they got ahold of me and if they were scouting specific students or if it was just because I was in one of the many areas where he was holding interviews. When I told him my stats, he was very straightforward with me though. He told me that I barely made it to being considered "competitive," which discouraged me a bit. But I knew that he had to be real with me which I why I really connected with him. After the interview, he emailed me again a few days later about our interview and that if I needed any questions answered, to email him directly.

Oh that's awesome that you got an interview! I bet you got in!!! I would be shocked if you didn't! I wasn't offered one of those interviews so we shall see for my fate! But if I don't get in I will keep my head up and try again for fall! Yah he called me and I didn't have my phone on me so he left a voicemail for me with all the information on the voicemail! I too don't usually answers numbers I don't know because I get a TON of spam calls!!

I'm hoping so. It's only a matter of time until I find out so let's hope it's thick fat packet in the mail haha. I'm still really hopeful for you as well. I mean at least you got a phone call from the admission counselor that is making the decision on your application which in my opinion, is a good thing. I'm actually pretty upset not everyone got a chance to do the interview though. I wasn't quite sure if it was fundamental but I now know that not everyone got the opportunity. At least you received sort of a timeframe from Milford Miles though. Which is better than nothing right?

Oh gosh, I know I'm keeping my fingers crossed for all of us on here that we get large envelopes with good news!! I think all of us on here have a fighting chance and if we don't get in we can't get discouraged!! I would have loved to do an interview because putting a face to a name is a very beneficial thing; in my opinion at least! Yah definitely better having some sort of time frame! I have never been so impatiently patient in my life haha!!

Yeah! I know with my GPA, I'm not considered competitive either! That's awesome that you had a chance to meet him. When I went to the campus tour I met Milford Miles, but I was really nervous and awkward. Lol

I'm hoping we all get big white packets too.
