Hi everyone! I noticed there wasn't a forum yet for the Spring 2019 applicants that applied to the University of San Francisco. I'm hoping others can join as we come together to see if we made it! Recently I just checked my portal and it said that my decision has been sent in mail. I'm not sure if that's a good sign or not. Has anyone else had their "decision mail sent" status up on the portal yet? If so, let me know!
Yeah! I know with my GPA, I'm not considered competitive either! That's awesome that you had a chance to meet him. When I went to the campus tour I met Milford Miles, but I was really nervous and awkward. LolI'm hoping we all get big white packets too.
It's okay, it can be very intimidating to speak to them for sure. I remember when I was prepping for my interview I was trying to stay calm but I felt that once I was with him in the room, I felt so nervous I could feel that I was either talking really fast or stuttering. It is so nervewrecking haha.
I have a feeling you will either get it today or tomorrow since they put it in the mail Monday! You have to let us know when you get it because I am anxious for you! Haha did you get an email when your portal status updated?
I'm definitely anticipating it. Too bad my mail gets delivered to me pretty late in the afternoon, but when I saw the status change, it was only because I logged into my portal. I never received any email stating that there were any changes made. And it has my email on my portal as well, so I would think they would email me but never got anything which is so weird.
Ah I'm sorry! But you have the right attitude! Please do not let it discourage you because the nursing field is so hard to get into right now so you just have to keep trying!! I received a rejection letter this year from east bay and although it wasn't the best feeling you just have to keep pushing forward and finding ways to up your chances!!!
If you don't mind sharing, what did you do to up your chances after receiving that rejection?
As of now, I have decided that if I don't get in this round at USF I will get my CNA license. Also, a way to raise cumulative gpa is to enroll in classes at the JC and make sure you get an A. With the state schools another great way is to get a very high score on the TEAS test!
Oh yes, I definitely will take the christmas break as my time to study for the TEAs and the HESI. I was so very hesitant in taking those entrance exam tests just because there's so much riding on those tests. I'm sure you know that each school has a limited amount of times you can take it and if you don't make the cut, then you have to apply to another school. That is also very nervewrecking as well. But I am determined to do well as I have been now in school. I know that using my christmas break while I am not in any classes will give me enough time to study for it. It's nice you have a plan B though, but I am keeping my fingers that you get in and you are able to take that next step forward. I believe in you! (:
Hey! I agree with Ivb91, don't let it discourage you! I also heard that if you apply again the school is more likely to take applicants the second time. Which is what I'll being doing if I get rejected! I also haven't taken my TEAS because I'm terrified of failing the first time.
But don't let this get you down!

I believe we all have a good chance too, it's really just the waiting. Just keep checking for that change in application status to see if it has been sent in the mail or keep calling the admission counselor for an update. I'm really impatient as well haha, I wonder since yesterday the postal service was closed, I wonder if I will still be receiving it at least by friday. I don't want to wait anymore haha. We just have to stay positive.
