University of San Francisco Nursing (USFCA) FALL 2017

Published

Hi All,

Started this thread in anticipation of the March 1st deadline for applications to the University of San Francisco Nursing Program (Fall 2017). This is my second time applying and I am hoping is my last time lol. Anyways if you want to chat about the process don't be shy. I've been looking on past threads and was on one for last semester (Spring 2017) and found this to be helpful even though I didn't get in @USFCA. My stats are listed below if anyone is intrested to take a look. The only variables I have changed since my last application was me finishing psychology, art history, and california history.

Stats

  • Science Pre Reqs: 4.0 (Anatomy, Physio, Micro, and Psych)
  • Nursing Pre Reqs: 3.925
  • Transferable GPA: 3.8

I also volunteer at a local hospital once a week for 4 hours (Started last August). I have 4.5 years EMT experience. I'm only currently taking sociology for this semester and this will be the first time I've not taken at least 12 units at my community college. Look forward to your responses!!!!

Hello Everyone,

I've been accepted into USF nursing program as well. Congrats to all of you!

Hey everyone!

I received my acceptance letter today with a scholarship!! Good luck to everyone!!

Congrats y'all I hope I get in on the second round if anything. If not I hope y'all the best.

Hey all, I received my acceptance letter on 4/7. I'm chiming in here to let those who are still waiting, don't give up hope. I'm not sure I can afford tuition even with the scholarship so there may be an open spot coming soon. Hang in there.

Got my acceptance letter as well, does anyone have experience with USF or have a compelling reasons to attend USF over one of the state schools like Sac State or CSUEB?

Hi everyone,

I got my acceptance letter 4/6. Any future classmates out there?

Hi!

I got accepted to the program also for fall 2017. Will you be attending the program?

I got accepted also, if someone can convince me to spend this kind of money on tuition vs. going to CSUEb or CSULA, then I might be a classmate. Haven't heard too many compelling reasons yet, but I really would like one. My goals are high GPA and good clinical experience.

Well I didn't apply to those schools but the main reason I'm going to USF is because they gave me a full ride on grants and scholarships enough to pay for my housing as well. On top of that, they have a good number of their clinicals at UCSF which is my dream grad school so this would be a convenient foot in the door.

For the people who have been accepted, does your application say anything different? Does it say you've been accepted or does it still say they are processing the application? I live in Florida and am wondering if the letter is just taking a long time in the mail.

Excellent, how did you get all the scholarships and stuff ?

USF is expensive, but they have good connections. If you have the money then go. States are a lot less expensive East bay has a great program. I believe USF is the longest program 7 semesters total that's 3.5 years. I believe states are 2.5 years and there is also another private school Samuel Merritt which is 2 years. In the end it's the same degree BSN.
