  1. I had to go find my password just to sign in on these jacks pulling this ridiculous clown business. Should have told em you didn't realize you were signed up to work in a circus. This is so unbelievable, and the reality of working in a hospital with clowns that even have the time of day to do some B**** stuff like this. Im really sorry you're going through this. And no doubt in my mind , it's just a trampoline to next and best job. Firing a nurse of 30 years hahah. I'd love to see the email traffic on this case. Bozos.
  2. May 9, yes. That’s what I gathered from another post. Sounds like a great problem to have. Grats to all. Maybe they will send more offers out on Friday, but ehhhh they probably hit everyone all at once by now and if anyone drops they will plug alternatives. And if you didn’t get selected, just know what you’re bringing to the table and rock on. It’s hardly in your job description to convince people of your potential or capability. Let em read about you later on. And, as much as possible, roll with aces up sleeves. Corporate cuts their best assets by accident ALL THE TIME. That’s how I see things a bit. Healthcare has PLENTY of room for everyone to fit. Trust. And God. If I got through what I did, still ready willing and able, then y’all are bout to do some cool stuff no doubt. Blessings ? ?.
  3. Congrats to all up front. I haven’t heard anything back myself for 6 E, eek. Still hoping. I imagine they will send a thank you letter to all applicants at the end of the process, but I could be wrong.
  4. Hi, I would assume that scheduling is most likely up to the unit, and will follow a preceptor for a solid 12 weeks. I’m almost positive that means you will not be scheduling your own schedule. As far as days/ nights, I doubt that will be so much up to the new-grad however they may accommodate if need-be. Pay is probably around 40/ hr before differentials included. I’m not sure when they will be notifying for selection. Good Luck to everyone.
  5. @ BabyD00Ks I would have to Relocate to attend CSULA, and I have kids as well, who I would need some time off to see throughout the year, summer usually being the best bet. I have to relocate for CSUEB as well. I live by Sacramento.
  6. Might be helpful for some attachment shows quarter to semester conversion dates. I was also informed they will be notifying people of school assignment or preference after May 31. 10-year-transition-cal-2015-4-25-16.pdf
  7. Ok thank you! I got into CSULA as well. I passed on USF, tuition was crazy. CSULA has a huge summer break and a pretty long winter break too. Also a 3 yr program. I will call EB today and try to find out the details.
  8. I'm trying to get a handle on the roadmap as well. Basically the roadmap is showing summer school included. I've talked to a current EB Nursing student and she says they have summers off for the first 2 years. Mid June - late Sep. Are we going to get summers off or no? Makes a big difference for myself, every other Nursing school i have got into has summers off.
  9. I've talked about ATI TEAS prep extensively in other threads but my vote goes to online ATI TEAS bundle... about 200 bucks... a bit steep... but that's the only way you get access to the online program which IMO is the business if you spend the time learning what answers are incorrect and why .... but as a perk they send you the book and a couple free practice tests...
  10. Thanks again, I was not aware of Sac states minimal preceptorship, however I'm still super impressed with their school. I've met with the director Teri Tallman. I'm pretty sure she's a big reason for their success, and she is really on top of it! So, for now I'm encouraged to go to CSUEB Concord, however if it all falls apart on me (family planning stuff) then I will be applying in the spring. I live around corner from Sacramento. Believe it or not, what ruined me was my English 1A class, which I had taken over 10 yrs ago and gotten a C. This reduced my GPA from a 3.92 to a 3.76, costing me 10 points which decapitated my chance pretty much. And sociology was in progress, now complete with an A. So, I feel like next time is a winner if I do reapply. Anyways good luck with everything!!
  11. Ok, I've done some research and Concord Campus is a much smaller campus, so I'm assuming having access to Campus resources wil be more limited and if you plan to play sports you probably want Hayward. Concord IMO is a bit less grungy than Hayward as a city, but thats just my own biased opinion based on little evidence. I've spent quite a bit of time in Concord and none at all in Hayward. Also, Concord will do clinicals at hospitals closer to that campus and similarly with Hayward. Both class sizes are the exact same, 62 students each, and the 2.5 year roadmaps are the same and can be found online. CSUEB online states that Concord is a cohort style format meaning you will attend the same classes with same students for your entire time. Hayward I'm assuming offers more scheduling variety for classes. And I think that's about all I got for ya.
  12. Thanks for the responses. I did not know that Sac State did not have preceptorship included. That's a make or break issue for me right there. Considering I don't have any formidable HC experience I think I will need a preceptorship. And as far as NCLEX being lower at CSUEB, 85% is still a good rate and in no way worries me about passing, but >95% for 5 years straight is just outstanding. Gotta tip my hat to that. And the caliber of students selected probably has something to do with it. BUT SFSU is probably just as competitive and their scores do not reflect the same type of excellence.
  13. Hollie18, I am so impressed by Sac States 2 year program and excellent NCLEX scores, I'm considering opting out of CSUEB in order to attend Sac State in Spring 18. I did speak with a Nursing dept. front desk worker who mentioned that the admissions criteria will be changing for Fall 18' applicants. I still cant get over how excellent Sac States program is. I will easily call it the best program in the state. Public or Private. 150 ppl test NCLEX a year, above 95% pass for the last 5 years. 2 year program to boot. AND winter break and long summer break. It's almost too good to be true IMO.
  14. I was accepted to CSUEB, stats something like 3.85, sciences 4.0, TEAS 94, and Military credit. Concord Campus preference.
