University of San Francisco Nursing (USFCA) FALL 2017

Published

Hi All,

Started this thread in anticipation of the March 1st deadline for applications to the University of San Francisco Nursing Program (Fall 2017). This is my second time applying and I am hoping is my last time lol. Anyways if you want to chat about the process don't be shy. I've been looking on past threads and was on one for last semester (Spring 2017) and found this to be helpful even though I didn't get in @USFCA. My stats are listed below if anyone is intrested to take a look. The only variables I have changed since my last application was me finishing psychology, art history, and california history.

Stats

  • Science Pre Reqs: 4.0 (Anatomy, Physio, Micro, and Psych)
  • Nursing Pre Reqs: 3.925
  • Transferable GPA: 3.8

I also volunteer at a local hospital once a week for 4 hours (Started last August). I have 4.5 years EMT experience. I'm only currently taking sociology for this semester and this will be the first time I've not taken at least 12 units at my community college. Look forward to your responses!!!!

I believe she said her name was Katie. I had other friends that called and they said different things to each of them, so I'm assuming they are saying anything lol. Looking back at past blogs they received notifications around the 3rd week of April, so I'm going to just expect it then. Starting to get more anxious.

If anyone else wants to call I realized I spoke to the operations department - that is who admissions transferred me to. In previous forums from previous application periods it seems most correct information was given out from that department. Here is hoping!

Hi guys! I just received my acceptance letter for Fall 2017!

Congratulations!!!!! Can you tell me where you live? I'm about 45-an hour from the school. I'm just trying to realize if I should hold out hope. Also your stats and if you had medical experience / volunteer experience. Thanks

Thank you! I live in Orange County, Southern California so probably about an 6-8 hour drive from the school.

My stats are:

-3.7 in science GPA

-4.0 in nursing prerequisites

-3.8 overall GPA

-92% on TEAS overall (we don't need this though right)

-200+ hours at St. Joseph's Hospital

-200+ hours at CHOC

-40+ hours at Hoag Hospital

Best luck to all of us!

Congrats! Sounds like I would have gotten a letter then. Thanks for posting :geek:

Congrats!!!

I emailed a counselor and they told me I'm part of the group that maybe considered later on after May 1st. So basically a backup for anyone that decides not to accept addmission. Goodluck to everyone doesn't look like I'm in the ideal position.

Did you email the main transfer email or did you email an individual counselor? I would like to know my official decision as well

I emailed an individual counselor. This truly sucks.

Anyone that hasn't heard back or hasn't received a rejection letter we will know back by May 1st. I was told there is 40 transfer spots.

I got an email back from the school saying that letters were being sent out throughout all of April and that I should hear from them in a few weeks. This just lead to more frustration since I want a firm answer. Can you direct message me or email me the person who gave you the info that you are being concerned only in May. I'm a single mom of three who is likely moving out of state if I don't get an acceptance letter. So I'm frustrated they just aren't blunt with where you stand

I totally agree with you. Father of two over here, so I know your frustrations. I will DM you right now.
