University of San Francisco Nursing (USFCA) FALL 2017

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

Hi All,

Started this thread in anticipation of the March 1st deadline for applications to the University of San Francisco Nursing Program (Fall 2017). This is my second time applying and I am hoping is my last time lol. Anyways if you want to chat about the process don't be shy. I've been looking on past threads and was on one for last semester (Spring 2017) and found this to be helpful even though I didn't get in @USFCA. My stats are listed below if anyone is intrested to take a look. The only variables I have changed since my last application was me finishing psychology, art history, and california history.

Stats

  • Science Pre Reqs: 4.0 (Anatomy, Physio, Micro, and Psych)
  • Nursing Pre Reqs: 3.925
  • Transferable GPA: 3.8

I also volunteer at a local hospital once a week for 4 hours (Started last August). I have 4.5 years EMT experience. I'm only currently taking sociology for this semester and this will be the first time I've not taken at least 12 units at my community college. Look forward to your responses!!!!

It's on the Snapchat type section on instagram

I don't know how to view that!

Did it say for Nursing students?

I figured it out finally! So nerve racking!

Really? I called in Monday & was told that the only decisions that they sent out were for freshman applicants. They said they're behind on a lot of applications because they were closed last week so processing of transcripts & what-not will not be done until the end of this week or next week.

Oh I see.. yeah I was just looking at the instagram I guess those are for the freshman then.

hello everyone, I spoke to the office of admission and they told me that freshman where going to be notified first then transfers students based on the spaces available. So after they hear back from the freshman who were accepted they will see how many seats are left ... so that kind of sucks for us transfer students, I read on another similar post that fall 2016 only had 10 transfer seats available. My friend got in for Spring 17 and she was notified a month before classes started that she was admitted, so unless you receive a letter saying you were not accepted then hang tight there might be a space available.

from the looks of it we all have really good stats and experience, at this point it is all luck .

Since I'm an impatient woman - I called USFCA yesterday and was transferred to the department where they mail out acceptance letters. The woman advised me that she just learned that day (4/3) that they are mailing out the first round of acceptance letters for nursing transfers by Friday of this week (4/7).

I would love for someone else to call to verify this information. I called admissions and they transferred me to the department that mails out the letters. Anyways let me know if anyone of you guys calls!

Hey thanks for calling!!! I called too yesterday and they stated they send out the 1st wave on Saturday.

Correction: Last Saturday (04/01/2017)

Who did you speak to? I heard from just admissions that they started to review transfers and prepare letters on 4/1 and then I was transferred for more information and the lady said they haven't made decisions yet so she couldn't tell me if I got in. But she did check my file to make sure everything was in. She said they would be mailed by the end of the week. She said she couldn't tell me when the second wave of acceptance letters would be sent just yet because they were just notified that the letters were being mailed this week.

I sure hope the lady I spoke to was right because I haven't received anything yet and I don't think it would take longer than two days to get to me. :wideyed:
