University of San Francisco Entry Level MSN CNL spring 2014

Published

Has anyone else out there applied to University of San Francisco Entry Level MSN CNL program for spring 2014?

Also to those of you who are still waiting, there's still hope! Don't give up :)

Nothing yet still.....but I've heard people being called/notified just days before orientation. I figure no news is good news till it's bad news..lol. So I figure we have all the way till orientation. I think they send out acceptances in waves in anticipation of those who choose to go else where. I could be very wrong but this is what I heard from my sister in-law who works for USF.

Congratulations Loma!!

I was just wondering, but what did your acceptance letter arrive in? Is it one of those 8.5x11 envelopes?

Congratulations to everyone accepted!

I got the call that I was hoping for on Thursday and I was told my acceptance letter was mailed on Friday so I'm expecting it soon. I'm so thrilled to meet everyone at orientation next month!

Thank you @sonnieeeeboi!

It was a large white envelope, i'd say around 15x12? I also got a call on Thursday letting me know of my acceptance.

Good luck! There's still time...

Anyone else receive an acceptance letter? If so, we should get a group of contacts together since it's so close to the start date of the program!

Hello eastbaybay! We should all get in contact before orientation! Congrats!

Congrats @SJforlife11! We will be in the same class. Were you able to update your deposit? The system still won't let me for some reason...

Thanks for the info @statsleeper! How was the first semester? I've heard mixed reviews...

Congrats to all that I received ther acceptance letters. Can someone confirm that rejection letters are sent via your typical letter size in lieu of the larger 15x11 as stated in the previous posts

@loma28

Congrats on getting in. The first semester will definitely feel overwhelming, especially the first day... you'll get your syllabus and within the first week you'll have to be reading over 15 chapters. To be honest, I didn't crack open most of my books and I was still able to come out with a 4.0. But that's just me and everyone is different. You'll get almost everything from the lecture slides, I advise printing them beforehand or bringing a laptop. The faculty is very supportive or at least the ones I had (not sure who you guys have). Sometimes you'll feel like you're being left in the dark, but you just have to believe them when they tell you not to worry... but you will worry... it's only natural. The curriculum is a little disorganized and you WILL be frustrated... but I've heard from other students in different programs that it's the same thing. The only suggestion I could give you is know the lecture material and the textbooks will only be supplementary information if you're unsure about anything.

Hi All,

Just received my waitlist letter and must say I am a bit disappointed. I can remain hopeful for a few more weeks but was definitely hoping for that phone call instead! For those who are wondering the letter says they continue to have marked increases in applicants so they have more qualified people than spaces in the class. They said they hope to have responses back from admitted students by the 10th of January and will notify those on the waitlist that week.

Would anyone that has been admitted mind sharing the basics of their app? I have a 3.4 undergrad and a 3.7 from my Masters in Health Administration from USC. My pre-req GPA came to 3.9. I am in the Health Admin honors society and have held positions at two hospitals working in quality and safety. I'm a volunteer in two programs at the nearby hospital and have also volunteered abroad. I had hoped that I had a strong application so am just curious to hear from those of you admitted. Totally understand that its personal but would love to know what it takes to get in! Thanks and congratulations to those of you who know! I'll keep my fingers crossed.

@emzie25,

Your application seems strong, how was your personal statement? I know that they weigh heavily on that and on your letters of rec since there is no interview process. I have decent grades as well, five years managing a surgical practice and two years of volunteer work at a local hospital. Also I've had my CNA license for about two years...

There is still hope for those of you who are wait listed and/or rejected, you can reapply again and they take that into consideration.

Good luck, hopefully you'll get that letter/call soon! Have you applied to other programs?
