University of San Francisco Entry Level MSN CNL spring 2014

Has anyone else out there applied to University of San Francisco Entry Level MSN CNL program for spring 2014?

@sonnieeeeboi

I don't believe they often bother to send out physical rejection letters. I received an email indicating that my admission status was available and to login to my online application to view it. That was my first clue ...

I received a letter on Monday about being placed on the waitlist for Cohort 17

@emzie25

They may give priority to applicants who do not already have masters. Especially since it is an entry level program.

I havent heard either....Its frustrating but its better than bad news. Im starting to get super anxious

Is anyone planning on working while in the program? I'm trying decide if I should offer to stay at my current job 1 day/wk or quit entirely.

And FYI for those of you still waiting to hear, I was the 7th person to register for classes today

@eastbaybay I'm planning on quitting my job a week before the program begins...For me the 1 day/week schedule wouldn't really make a big difference in terms of funds.

Did you send them official transcripts? I believe this would unblock me and allow me to register.

Eastbaybay, I am having the same dilemma! However, when I heard that we would be assigned 15 chapters in the first week I began leaning toward not working. It would be so nice though to have at least some money coming in. It would be awesome to hear from people in the program to see if it's doable. Let me know what you decide.

And Loma you can register without your transcripts in. I had thought the same because that's best it says on the online orientation, but you actually can do it without them. And I recommend you do so soon too, just so you can ensure you get clinicals on the day you would like! I believe there's Tuesday or Friday.

eastbaybay and andaughe, I'm currently in Cohort 14 and I've maintained working ~26 hrs a week. I will tell you it was definitely a challenge at times but so worth having the extra money. I felt it made me more organized and less of a procrastinator...

Still crossing my fingers for one of my friends to get into your cohort! good luck guys! I'm almost done!

MSNCNL14, thanks for your input, that's very encouraging. I'm leaning toward working because every little bit helps and I can always quit in the future if it things get overwhelming. Congrats on almost being done! If you have any advice for us please let us know :)

Loma28, I sent official transcripts but they haven't received them yet. I wasn't able to register yesterday even though I submitted my intent to enroll and paid the deposit, but it opened up to me today. I think the system may take a day or two after you pay the deposit to open up enrollment.

What day did you all pick for clinicals? I chose the Friday clinicals because I wanted to have Tuesday free for studying and preparing for classes.

Ok, well now I'm second guessing quitting my job! I wasn't expecting there to be ANY free time but it sounds like it may be doable...I'm relying mostly on loans/grants/savings.

Thank you for all of the insightful comments!

I too will be choosing Friday clinicals due to the potential couple hours at my job (which is near campus) :)

Those who haven't heard back yet, any news? I have not received a letter or an email about my status. Congrats to those who got in!!

i haven't heard back either. :sigh:
