University of San Francisco Entry Level MSN CNL spring 2014

Published

Has anyone else out there applied to University of San Francisco Entry Level MSN CNL program for spring 2014?

Congratulations to everyone who received acceptance letters. For the rest of you, I was in your shoes once too, so I'm not going to tell you all to be patient since you'll probably be wearing your phone and stalking the mailman everyday. Once again, they accept students in waves, so don't lose hope! They also accept people closer to the start date since people may choose to go elsewhere which frees space up for other people.

@HollySF, I received my acceptance letter on Sat. Nov. 30th, but the letter was dated Nov. 27th (a Wednesday), which is consistent to what myflies2000 stated above.

@fromparkave, my application does not have a CNL evaluation portion. However, my letter has my USF ID on it.

My online application status now says "Decision Status Available." I hope to see more acceptance responses from everyone!

I am soo nervous to hear from admissions. I have a 3.4 gpa and currently taking 3pre-req courses that end in two weeks. I used to work for a plastic surgeon and she wrote me a fantastic rec. as did her mentor. I am really hoping I get accepted. I'm getting married in late June next year, so getting in spring cohort would be easier than summer cohort but I'll take what I can get. I have heard of individuals being accepted but not accepted to clinicals till the next cohort...to give those time to finish pre-reqs. Anybody have this experience?

any news?

i continue to be anxious!

Nothing yet....I keep checking my application status and it still says the same. Although I did find out that if you have to reapply you need to have your letters sent in again, that seems a bit annoying to the person who wrote the letter. One of the Drs that wrote mine is in Africa now doing Doctors Without Borders...she has zero time or internet availability to do this for me again. Ugghh

@Nicolekay, I believe you can reuse your letter of rec's if you have to reapply (they're valid for a year I think or at least for the next cycle of applications). At least they were when I called and asked... if you haven't, maybe you can try calling. Although, they do recommend an additional letter of rec if you didn't get in just to give yourself a boost.

So, based on previous Spring cohorts, the first Friday of December appears to have been a big day for phone calls. Anyone get a call (or letter) today? If not, maybe letters have at least gone out today (for those of us who haven't gotten word yet), and we will hopefully get them early next week. :o

hi all,

has anyone else heard back from USF yet? I am anxiously waiting!

nope sharing the anxiety with ya :-/

Still nothing here either.

@MN2b do you live in SF or do you commute from outside the city to USF? I live in San Jose and am deciding whether to find an apartment in the city or commute to classes and clinicals (e.g. via Bart or Caltrain, driving). From your experience, would it be too challenging to commute? Ideally, I want to room with a fellow USF nursing student.

I hope more of you all get acceptance letters this week! If so, please update me on this thread about your living arrangements and/ or plans for next semester. Good luck!

Hi all! This is the response I received today to allay our anxieties.

"Hi Madeline,

Your application is currently under review. The reviewers are still making their final decisions and hope to have completed them by Monday.

Best,

Erin"
