Hello I didn't see any articles relating to USFCA's BSN program Sp 21 so I decided to make one myself. I applied for the Fall 2020 program but got an offer for Spring 2021 instead. I was wondering if anyone else is planning to apply/got offered an admission/ already attending USF for nursing. I would love to get acquainted with my future cohort/ current nursing students at USF.

I’m like uh no they said by today at the latest. So I hope they don’t delay the decisions
Just got an email saying they made another round of offers, but are still considering my application. They’re supposed to give me another update by December 21st. I am irritated LOL

I do believe everything happens for a reason. I just got off the waitlist at my top choice (CSU East Bay) and I will be starting fall 2021. I originally applied for fall 2020 but the cohort got deferred due to covid and I gave up hope that things would work out. I was also offered a spot in USF's program this afternoon at 4:48pm. They awarded me a transfer scholarship (15k to be renewed every year). East Bay has been my top choice from the very beginning due to location, cost, and the campus. I feel as though I connected with the campus more than I did with USF's. Deep down I knew USF was not the right fit for me and receiving this news along with the acceptance only confirms it. I will be declining my spot at USF tomorrow morning to hopefully open it up to one of you. I really wish you guys the best. Do not loose hope. Everything will work out the way its supposed to. ❤️
Hey guys,
I also got the same email today but I’m applying for the Sacramento campus. I got accepted to Chamberlain College of Nursing in Arizona but I was really hoping to stay here first. Like you guys, I’m also feeling discourage but I believe things happen for a reason. No matter what happens, let’s keep trying.

I am so confused! I’m not trying to be rude or anything but I saw you post your stats and it seems that my stats were higher? I’m confused as to how their system works to be honest

Hey! So schools like USF and SMU take a holistic approach to admission. This means they look beyond GPA/stats. They weigh you as a person and what you would bring to the program. I noticed my stats were higher than quite a few of the people that got into SMU, yet I didn’t even get waitlisted. Unfortunately that’s just the way things go. I wouldn’t take it too personally. This being my 2nd round of applying I’ve learned it’s better not to compare myself to other people and to trust in the decisions. (Even if they’re not what you hope for) I wish you the best and hope you get off the list!

Is this your first time applying? Because this is not shocking at all. As you go through application cycles you will see that stats are just not enough sometimes, especially for the private schools. They heavily weigh your personal statements and essays. Yeah high stats are nice but at the end of the day they want to know what has molded you into who you are, your experiences, etc. That is what a lot of the time will tell them if you can make it in the long run and are a good fit for that specific program. If you want to be based solely on GPA and test scores you should stick with the CSU’s. I don’t believe any of them even have a personal statement as a part of their review criteria.
